Defined Terms and Documents      'Aboriginal Teenager Life Skills' RTV Social Inclusion Early Intervention Programme 

Team Sporting Coaches means Gatekeepers to coach each of the Three Mixed Team Sports for the Year 9 Mixed Teams' Tri-Sports Challenge during the First RTV Year supported by 10  x  Younger Indigenous Corporate Sponsor Sports Employees and 12  x  Sporting Role Models, who attend 5 Regional Townships each by end-April in the First RTV Year.

Each of the 6  x  Gatekeepers who nominate to be a Team Sporting Coach would have played the particular sport or be very familiar with that sport as a keen supporter. 

As only some of the accompanying Sporting Role Models will be familiar with the particular sport (ie. tennis, soccer or basketball), 10  x  Younger Indigenous Corporate Sponsor Sports Employees, who play or coach in the particular Mixed Team Sport and are aged between 20 and 40 years old, will instruct "hands on"  the 14 Accepted Year 9 Aboriginal Students in each Regional Township Team in the First RTV Year for each of the Three Mixed Team Sports.

On-Site Workshops notes that by end-April in the First RTV Year, -

*          one of the  6  x  Gatekeepers; and

*          one of the 10  x  Younger Indigenous Corporate Sponsor Sports Employees,

will visit each of the Ten Regional Township Teams for a '3 daysOn-Site Workshop (allowing an additional day's travel) either during school holidays or over a long weekend which aggregates to 360 days of two Team Sporting Coaches attendance. 

Each of the -

*          6  x  Gatekeepers would be coaching for an average of 30 days at 5 Regional Townships each; and

*         10  x  Younger Indigenous Corporate Sponsor Sports Employees would be coaching for an average of 30 days at 5 Regional Townships each,

by end-April in the First RTV Year.

Below is an extract from On-Site Workshops for the Year 9  Mixed Teams' Tri-Sports Challenge:

*        by end-April in the First RTV Year one Team Sporting Coach and one Younger Indigenous Corporate Sponsor Sports Employee for each of the Three Mixed Team Sports, supported by one Sporting Role Model, will attend each of the Six Regional Townships to conduct an On-Site Workshop with each of the Ten Regional Township Teams (and meet the Indigenous Local Connector) over three days, either during school holidays or over a long weekend = 10 visits x 3 sports x 3 visitors @ 3 days =  270 Mentor Days.

Team Sporting Coaches also provide -

(i)         support to the Indigenous Local Connector (for the First RTV Year) at each of the Six Regional Townships; and

(ii)        training information to the Teenager Life Skills Website Directors during the First RTV Year who will publish on the Teenager Life Skills Website.

 

The 6  x  Gatekeepers who perform the Team Sporting Coaches duties will, following input from the Indigenous Principal's Representative, have to agree the Challenge Sport Workshop Schedule for the 3 day's On-Site Workshops, to be published in the Regional Township Team Web Folder on the 'Aboriginal Teenager Life Skills'  Website which logically will focus on coaching for the particular sport in the Three Mixed Team Sports.

Team Sporting Coaches is one of the Eleven Mentoring Roles and one of the Three Team Challenges Mentors.
