(B) 'Case Study' titled "Marathon Challenge" of 13 interested adults with varying ailments (HIV, Type 1 Diabetes, Depression, stressful divorce, Obesity and post-fatality trauma) who accepted a Challenging invitation from a team of 'Clinicians', 'Sports Therapists' and a Public Broadcasting Station to tackle a rigorous exercise activity, namely to run the 42km 2007 Boston Marathon in 9 months time - explained in Section 16(j). Marathon Challenge proves, inter alia the 'Power of positive thinking' under a Supervised training environment which incorporates a LCCBSG. Section 16.(j)(ii) provides Testimonials of the 13 members of Team NOVA which validate the power of interested adults taking on a Challenging RREA within a LCCBSG, thereby adding credence that the Hypothesis will materially reduce the Fifteen Problems, in particular that the Hypothesis can Empower An Adult To Better Control Their Stress Responses

of "...greatest athletics coach that Australia has ever produced"
namely
Percy Cerutty's philosophy
to win at all cost drawn
from the
Grecian army, the
Spartans, that were trained to ignore fear, withstand
enormous pain and exhibit a stoic distain for emotion.
Percy Cerutty was a highly motivational and
successful coach, with Herb Elliott his great
protégé who won the 1,500m at the 1960 Rome
Olympic Games by the largest margin recorded in Olympic history.
(D) basic training' psychology observed for training army and marine corp. across the globe, in fact the same psychology deployed to harden the gladiators 2000 years ago. A colloquial term is 'Boot Camp' which puts new trainees through a 'basic training' programme, usually a month or longer, to - (a) toughen new recruits both mentally and physically to handle the rigours and stresses of military service; and (b) develop loyalty for and camaraderie amongst their fellow trainees whom they will rely on.
The Hypothesis applies the same rationale for folk of all ages, both Abled, Disabled, Disadvantaged and some experiencing certain types of Chronic Pain, to harden themselves both mentally and physically by taking on sporting Challenges by substituting a LCCBSG for the yelling and screaming of a Sergeant Major at 'Boot Camp' intent upon asserting his authority. RECs, who have previously expended 10+ years in voluntary sports administration, assisting hundreds of interested adults, are there to "motivate not humiliate". Parallels also exist between the Hypothesis and a Reality TV series, Brat Camp (produced by Twenty Twenty Television on Channel 4) about a group of British teenagers who had major social issues/problems (drugs, anger, alcohol, nicotine, depression) whose parents agreed the teenagers attend a special camp located in the Utah desert. It premiered on American Broadcasting Company in July 2005. Brat Camp won an International Emmy. These special camps are referred to as - (I) wilderness therapy programs; and/or (II) therapeutic outdoor education. Whilst only 1% or 2% of Interested Adults would likely display the degree of social problems of the British teenagers who featured in Brat Camp, the Eleven Sports Administration Attributes of the RECs, in particular the below 2nd attribute, are paramount:
"(ii) has expended at least 10 years of giving to the local community in an unpaid capacity by selflessly and successfully motivating >100 adults to the joys of a regular rigorous sport within a LCCBSG, incl informing such adults of a suitable level of aerobic progression" (E) Dragons Abreast Australia is a non-profit charity which - (i) promotes a message of education, hope and awareness of breast cancer; (ii) assists individuals thru the often highly stressful state post-breast cancer treatment to transition back into a full and active life despite this insidious disease via participation in a dragon boat program; (iii) invites suffers of breast cancer to join a 'Dragons Abreast Member Group' which offers the therapeutic benefits of a LCCBSG; and (iv) has approx 50 active Dragon Boat Member Groups across Australia who train regularly and race competitively. Read "Hobart dragons take on Canada". (F) Wild Women On Top is a commercial Australian fitness company which targets women who want to train for and complete arduous physical challenges such as Wild Walks, 50km or 100km Coastrek. The testimonials and photos at Wild Women On Top of exhilarated, confident groups of women on their endurance walks indicate that the participants are healthy, happy and self-confident. Explained in Section 16, in particular Section 16.(a), Section 16(c), Research Programme Team, Head Consultant and Interested Parties. Forecasts of the Hypothesis' scope to achieve Fifteen Benefits Of Materially Altered Lifestyle are at Section 16.(b) titled "Forecast Results of the Primary Research Programme". |
