NORTHERN START OPTION 6:45am Sunday, 9 Dec from Hornsby street front carpark 100m Nth of Railway Hotel in Jersey St on West side of station for Tour de Windsor - 119km approx -  ETR 12:30pm

Or WESTERN START OPTION 7:00am from Porters Scenic Lookout (Cnr Old Northern Rd and Galston Rd, Dural) -  97km  -  ETR 11:20am
The Hornsby starters will be cycling faster than the Porters Lookout starters.  The Porters Lookout group is jumping a head-start.  Both ride groups should separately arrive
at Macquarie Square Windsor around 9:40am for 1st Nosh Stop (35 min) to meet cyclists who commenced from Turra' station or Vimiera Rd Marsfield

Ø    Avoid cycling in a Peloton if you haven't agreed Peloton Protocols, as the cyclist up front is generally considered to hold a duty of care to warn the cyclist behind of any potholes, rocks etc.   Unless Peloton Protocols are agreed by cyclists in a Peloton, if a cyclist sits on another cyclist's wheel it is incumbent upon the cyclist behind to warn the cyclist ahead -
*        of his close presence, and
*        if he expects the cyclist ahead to warn of dangers ahead.

NB: In the USA, the wife, Sue For Damages, of a fallen cyclist, Dead Fred, sued for USD12m -

      *        a careless cyclist, Negligent Nathan, who dropped his mobile phone after answering a call whilst in a ride Peloton; and
*        the ride leader, Not Strict Enough, for not previously reprimanding Negligent Nathan's senseless conduct

Negligent Nathan's fallen cell 'phone had caused Dead Fred's death.
Dead Fred had previously complained to Not Strict Enough about Negligent Nathan's sloppy Peloton Protocols.

Sue For Damages lost the family business which 'inter alia' supported their three young children because Negligent Nathan wasn't responsible when riding in a Peloton and Sue For Damages sought damages and costs.  In addition, to warning a cyclist ahead if U are drafting him, also make sure U have current Public Liability cover because someone might be drafting U and contend that U owe him a duty of care, even if he hasn't previously cleared with you.

Ø    As noted below, Ann aka ToothFairy is leading a smaller, slower group from Porters Scenic Lookout  which is starting "relatively earlier" in order to arrive at Windsor contemporaneously

Ø    Ride Organiser: Phil Johnston 0412 045.224 or 9114.6689 who is cycling the alternate route from Nth Turramurra at 7:20am

Ø    Hardcopy and study route with your UBD prior to Sunday and bring on Sunday

Ø    Cycling without Public Liability cover is as silly as driving without 3rd Party -
join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that all Muggs are better protected

Ø    Click on: Risk Warnings which warns of 'inter alia', the dangers of cycling on public roads with motor cars, potholes and over bridges with vertical timber planks with gaps

Ø    Cycling with Muggs is predicated upon notifying Bank Teller if you materially disagree with any clause(s) in Muggaccinos' "Ride Participants Liability Acknowledgment"

Ø     Brings snacks to chomp whilst on Sackville Ferry (after 50km) as the 2nd Leg is a longish 54km

Greg aka ArchitectToo's report after completing his 2nd 160km Lake Taupo Cycling Challenge, NZ - Sat 24th Nov 2007

Greg recently again completed an annual ride which has risen to the top of the “Must Do”: endurance rides for Die Hard Ozzie cyclists.  It is Across the Ditch and attracted 10,000 cyclists, to both the individual and team categories.  Read Greg’s account at Architect Too. And U 2 may want to plan for 2008 ‘cause the scenery over the 160km loop is marvelous, and our Kiwi neighbours always turn-on a tough workout

May not look steep, but Golly Gosh Paroo Rd KOM Climb sure as hell is precipitous - just ask DishPig and ToothFairy.

After pigging out at the Lisarow Subway we were ready to aboard the train to Hawkesbury River (Brooklyn) station for the final 25km leg back to Hornsby station.
