Scribe's rap-up of Christmas Eve, "Turra' to Seven Hills, climbing Old Bathurst Rd to Springwood, Richmond, Seven Hills - 87km - 7 cyclists Andrew aka TugBoat clocked up 148km having cycled from his Narellan "digs" along the M5, M7, M4, to Old Ballarat Rd n back. Angelo aka The Fox and Anthony aka Froggy and Peter from Canada Bay rode 100km. Because they caught a train from Seven Hills to Emu Plains and a further train from Richmond to Seven Hills, Bank Teller and PapaBear only managed 87km, with Richard aka Sloth exceeded the ton by cycling back to Greenwich.
Old Bathurst Rd which leads from Emu Plains at the foot of the Blue Mtns up to Springwood was again beaut to climb with some sections 17o. It is a real shame we only manage to get out West to climb it once a year. But the good news is that an even tougher "climbing" ride is Bowen Mtn and Bellbird Hill on Sun 4 Jan.
