Existing Recreational & Competitive Exercise Infrastructure means rather than try and create a purpose-built Challenging event, the -

A.    for Rigorous Recreational Exercise Activities existing:

  1. bushwalking tracks and trails for Bushwalkers - the Six Foot Track in Katoomba and Cradle Mountain in Tasmania are well known, however, there are hundreds of local bush walking tracks around Sydney, and no doubt in national parks which surround each capital city, which are regularly used by local Bushwalkers - see items 1 of 900+ Existing Local District Recreational Exercise Groups in NSW.  Comparable facilities similarly exist in other states and ACT;

  2. road bicycle routes for Recreational Road Cyclists  -  www.KOMpm.com and www.Muggaccinos.com list almost one hundred road cycling routes in Greater Sydney and the Illawarra, between 75km to 125km, which have materially lower traffic on weekends, particularly on Sunday mornings - see items 2 of 900+ Existing Local District Recreational Exercise Groups in NSW.  Comparable facilities similarly exist in other states and ACT;

  3. below are more prominent cycle racing velodromes for track cycling:

  1. road racing circuits for Road Cycling Racing such as on the north side of Sydney - Terrey Hills-McCarrs Creek circuit, Mt Ku'ring'gai Criteriums, Homebush Bay Summer Criteriums, Heffron Park Summer Series Criteriums - 110km Blayney to Bathurst Long Course part of NSW Hill Climbing Championships and 150km Goulburn to Sydney.  Comparable facilities and annual road races similarly exist in the South and West of Sydney and in other states and ACT;

  2. mountain bike trails and tracks for Mountain Bikers such as around Sydney - Bobbin Head, Akuna Bay/West Head, Blue Mountains, Royal National Park and a plethora of other national parks - see item 4 of 900+ Existing Local District Recreational Exercise Groups in NSW.  Comparable facilities similarly exist in other states and ACT;

  3. council swimming pools, ocean rock swimming pools, rivers, lakes, harbours, bays and beaches for Ocean Swimming and Pool Swimming - see items 6 & 7 of 900+ Existing Local District Recreational Exercise Groups in NSW.  Comparable facilities similarly exist in other states and ACT; and

  4. rivers, lakes, harbours, bays and beaches that Kayakers and canoe paddlers presently use - see item 8 of 900+ Existing Local District Recreational Exercise Groups in NSW.  Comparable facilities similarly exist in other states and ACT.

Organisers of LDRREGs for the above RREAs, FOFs and potential RECs, are very familiar with local Existing Recreational & Competitive Exercise Infrastructure for their RREA.

 

 

B.    for Moderate Recreational Exercise Activities existing:
