Risk Warning
Ø   Do not cycle over the metal girders on the ramp at the Berowra Waters ferry, 'cause you will come down hard, like many before you if you try to cycle over any of the longitudinal steel beams.
Ø   Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday

Ø   Expend 5 min studying your street directory for this route, if you haven't ridden it before

Ø   Don't ride two abreast on single lane roads with an unbroken centre line and descend corners on wet roads as though you are skating on ice

Ø   When passing a fellow Mugg, always provide a metre clearance.  If you can't, or are passing on the inside, you MUST call out loudly eg. "passing inside" etc

Some forms of cycling are dangerous.  An ave of 36 Australian cyclists have been killed annually since 2000.  95% of these fatalities occur on the road

Other cyclists in Australia break bones and incur nerve impairment from falling off their bikes in accidents.

A cyclist could fall from his/her bike, inter alia, due to -
(i)      being hit by a car or another cyclist; or
(ii)     encountering a pothole;

(iii)    cycling too fast on a wet downhill where the coefficient of friction is much less, particularly at corners; or
(iv)    getting their bicycle wheel caught in a gap in a timber bridge.

A negligent cyclist could -

(a)    be litigated by a seriously injured cyclist, or 3rd party (ie. a woman pushing a pram on a footpath or a car driver) under common law where the damages could exceed $500,000; and

(b)    lose his/her home if he/she did not have public liability insurance which covers their negligence whilst on a push bike.

A negligent cyclist who did not have personal injury insurance (ie self-employed without income protection cover) could struggle to meet regular outgo commitments.

A seriously injured cyclist could be awarded damages which a negligent cyclist could not afford to pay if the negligent cyclist -
(I)     did not have public liability insurance cover; and/or
(II)    did not possess valuable assets.

Ø    Cycling without Public Liability cover is as silly as driving without 3rd Party -
join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that all Muggs are better protected

Ø    Click on: Risk Management which warns of 'inter alia', the dangers of cycling on public roads with motor cars, potholes and over bridges with vertical timber planks with gaps

Ø    Cycling with Muggs is predicated upon notifying Bank Teller if you materially disagree with any clause(s) in Muggaccinos' "Ride Participants Liability Acknowledgment"

Rap up of Tour de Lisarow via lots of bloody hills -  84km  -  11 crew and 12 if we count Trev who met us at Palm Beach but didn't catch the ferry

Above two pics were taken about 10 secs apart on a delightful November morn' about 6:40am heading due East out of Hornsby when the rising sun was still "peakin' over the horizon".
Sounds romantic, but when you are pedaling due East on
Junction Rd directly into it, it ain't fun, 'cause in the back of ya noggin you are cogitating, "Can the approaching car behind me who is also contending with this blistering sunrise, see dear old me."

Four Happy Campers on the ferry to Wagstaffe.  Golly Gosh it was more fun than a barrel of monkey's when we hit a wave and the ferry was buffeted

Two cool dudes amongst some not so cool

Majestic Lion Island in all it splendor.  That assembly of sandstone and weeds has probably been there for about 4b years.  We might jag 90 years if we R lucky!!!

Approaching Wagstaffe Wharf on a truly "brill" Nov morn'

Alighting our ferry and heading for the Wagstaffe Wharf Cafe for another 'medicinal fix'

More grub 'n drugs

You could be excused 'fur thinkin" that these two dudes were in deep cogitation over somethin' important.  Think again, 'cause they are "all piss and wind!!!"

A close up of Jenny aka C2S, who managed a leave pass today

Pigging-out at the bestest Subway "Restaurant" anywhere, namely the Lisarow Subway.  Why 'cause after slogging up the dreaded Paroo Rd which peaks at 17o, t'was nice to re-fuel under a bit of shade with a gentle breeze and the prospect of multiple refills of Diet Coke with a shot of Fanta Raspberry. (Gees there are some dorky facials in that lot.)

These three Turkeys look in control and suave.  But looks can deceive

See, I watched the two Pete's buy tickets from this big machine, and I thought to myself, "It can't be that hard, and it wasn't.  I just followed the instructions, and voila.  But if you feed in a Redback, expect to have to lug a lot if coins home with you, because this machine doesn't spit out Blue ones.  Golly Gosh I am a Techo Guru!!!"

State Rail could use these three Cheerful Chums on their Leave the Car in the Garage and Catch a Train adverts
