Risk Warning
Ø     Take Care descending to Illawong Bay.  About 1,5km past Cottage Point Rd is a hard RH switch-back, known as the The Wall, which has claimed several cyclists, including Siggy

Some forms of cycling are dangerous.  An ave of 36 Australian cyclists have been killed annually since 2000.  95% of these fatalities occur on the road

Other cyclists in Australia break bones and incur nerve impairment from falling off their bikes in accidents.

A cyclist could fall from his/her bike, inter alia, due to -
(i)      being hit by a car or another cyclist; or
(ii)     encountering a pothole;

(iii)    cycling too fast on a wet downhill where the coefficient of friction is much less, particularly at corners; or
(iv)    getting their bicycle wheel caught in a gap in a timber bridge.

A negligent cyclist could -

(a)    be litigated by a seriously injured cyclist, or 3rd party (ie. a woman pushing a pram on a footpath or a car driver) under common law where the damages could exceed $500,000; and

(b)    lose his/her home if he/she did not have public liability insurance which covers their negligence whilst on a push bike.

A negligent cyclist who did not have personal injury insurance (ie self-employed without income protection cover) could struggle to meet regular outgo commitments.

A seriously injured cyclist could be awarded damages which a negligent cyclist could not afford to pay if the negligent cyclist -
(I)     did not have public liability insurance cover; and/or
(II)    did not possess valuable assets.

Ø     Cycling without Public Liability cover is as silly as driving without 3rd Party - join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that all Muggs are better protected

Ø     Click on: Risk Management which warns of 'inter alia', the dangers of cycling on public roads with motor cars, potholes and over bridges with vertical timber planks with gaps

Ø     Cycling with Muggs is predicated upon notifying Bank Teller if you materially disagree with any clause(s) in Muggaccinos' "Ride Participants Liability Acknowledgment"

Ø     Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday

Scribe's rap-up of Tour de Windsor, with Wilberforce, Ebenezer, Sackville loop - 112km - 14

Apologies for missing Jean aka ChiliDog and KayakMan in the below snaps.  But they were off sussing out another cafe across the street owned another Mauritian.

If ya want to know how cold it was in the depths of Browns Water Hole yesterday morn' at 8:25am, ask Trev who "bravely" was resplendent in only a single layer plus arm warmers, yet survived the experience, notwithstanding much winging 'n whining after he re-surfaced from the tunnel at the top of Vimiera Rd.  No one had a paint scrapper to get the coating of ice off Tornado, so a few of us grabbed him by the legs, swung him around, up and down, and then whacked him into the road surface to give him the "kiss of life".  Voila!!! blood immediately rushed to his extremities and he could hold the handle bar once again, not holding us up.  His long finger gloves had warn thru at the finger tips.  Trev should follow CampyAfficinado's lead and buy a pair of fully-imported tradesman's gloves at Bunnings for twenty bucks which look surprisingly like the ones for double the price in bike shops.

Bazza aka Canada and Bill aka Glasgow in deep cogitation.  Gees don't they look as though they are pondering the major problems besetting the 21st century.  Or perhaps Bazza was high on Prozac, having just returned from scaling Alpe d' Huez and Mont Ventoux with AnotherBeanCounter, and Bill was concerned over his overtly patriarchal demeanor.  These two could easily be Obama and Gordon Brown on their day off at Camp David.  Hang on, don't know if Obama is a cyclist.  Heaven forbid, Bazza might be Obama's predecessor.

Justine aka Trumpeter, Tornado and PrincessCaroline were agog.  A petite 4 year old named Lucy and her young puppy were holding court because mum reported that their puppy is a caffeine addict.  Mum asked if we would mind the little critter whilst she went in to buy herself a Cappuccino.  A few mins later Scribe inadvertently put his empty cup of coffee on the table next to the puppy who, upon smelling the coffee beans, went 'Hyper'.

Publican, Scribe, Caroline and Whippet at Windsor.  Seagull again scored good-pickings at The Bridge Cafe which continues to serve monster Full English Breakfasts that fortuitously some patrons struggle to finish.  For every dark cloud for some, there is a silver lining for others.

Jane aka Neo-Luddite, Pete aka CampyAficionado and PacificPete on quaint Clarendon station awaiting a train to Seven Hills for the final 23km final leg along the M2 and up the dreaded Kissing Point Rd, with 70m at >16o back to Rohini Street carpark.  Don't know what drugs PacificPete was on, but he sure gated the rest of the field over the latter few clicks to the M2 egress at the light-tower to Browns Water Hole and Vimiera Rd.
