to Mt White, Kariong, Woy Woy:

*      return via Ettalong ferry to Palm Beach and cycle to St Ives                  -  122km  -  ETR 3:30pm; or 

*      catch train at Woy Woy back to -

        #         Hawkesbury River station, Brooklyn, and cycle back to Hornsby  -  96km  -   ETR 3pm; or

        ##       Hornsby station (68km) and optional cycle back to St Ives           -   76km  -   ETR 1:30pm

• Due to the Old Pacific H'way collapsing in two short sections 8 weeks ago just past the Australian Reptile Park we will need to take a left into Pile Rd and a Right into Falls Rd and a further Right into Wisemans Ferry Rd (at the roundabout at the Somersby Estate) which will add 2.2km. 
  There is a sign "Road Closed" at entrance to Old Pacific H'way shortly past Calga Interchange.  However, local residents have been using the roads throughout as the only road that is closed is a short section of the Old Pacific H'way due to 2 x 30m damaged sections and we won't be attempting to ride that section.
  Should there be any reason why we cannot cycle from Calga to Kariong, and I do not know of a reason, we will switch to the route for next week's ride, heading Nth to Peats Ridge and then the choice of -
  *        Wyong station train back - 93km; or
  *        Wyee station train back - 119km

• All cyclists should target arriving at 1st Nosh Stop of Mt White at 10:05am. If you are slow start 5 or 10 min earlier than listed times.

• Don't cycle two abreast on single lane roads with an unbroken centre line

• Maintain your membership of Bicycle NSW for Public Liability cover in case another cyclist sues you for riding negligence

• R  East to Gosford “Scenic Route”, remaining on Old Pac H'way, to intermittent sounds of chirping Bellbirds, crossing Mooney Mooney creek 4.1km later;

• climb 6.1km and take a Sag Stop (3 min) at the Wisemans Ferry/Gosford roundabout at Somersby Industrial Estate - keeping well to LHS; and

• R Sth for 700m on Wisemans Ferry Rd, then L gradually ascending for 1.4km Old Pac H'way arriving at familiar Kariong Shell garage at 12pm for Sag Stop (10 min).

Third legs from 11:35am:

Either:    Kariong Shell garage to Ettalong ferry - 18km (42 min) to catch 11am, 12:30pm or 2:30pm ferry to Palm Beach

Scribe’s rap-up of St Ives, Fruit Barn, Church Point, Whale Beach, Palm Beach, Akuna Bay - 85km - 17 cyclists

Our ride was noteworthy due to the return of three regulars who have been cycling in Europe, namely The Kaiser, Lawyer and Miner, coupled with the presence of three new chums Jan and Paul joining us for their first ride, and Richard aka Slouth who has ridden with Scribe on a few midweek rides making his initial Sunday appearance.
