Cycling
without Public Liability cover is as silly as driving without 3rd Party -
join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that -
* if your negligence causes a serious
accident it won't cost you "material damages" and associated legal costs; and
* if another cyclist's negligence
seriously injures you, the negligent party will have deep pockets

Scribe's
rap of
Tour de Kurrajong Heights to scale precipitous Bowen Mountain 'n
Bellbird Hill/Warks Hill Rd - 111km - 7 cyclists
Kerry aka Miner,
Samurai,
The Kaiser,
ToothFairy,
TugBoat 'n
Scribe partook in this
annual epic to the high veldt. Kerry had chores a beckoning
and had to cut-out early. Arno wanted to reconnoitre a new route
back from Richmond.
En route to Richmond after aboarding at
Seven Hills station
Alighting at
Richmond station on a barmy Autumn morn'.
A mid-morn carbo load at
Richmond Park after visiting the Blue Lagoon Cafe.
Pete aka Pacific was the star of
today by scaling the precipitous 2.8km @ 8.15% ave up the seriously
nasty Bowen Mountain in 18¼ min in a 39/27 which was a monumental
performance, 'cause for every rev of his front crank, Pete generated 1.444 revs
of his back wheel. Whilst Scribe trundled-up on his 28/28, ie. 1 to
1, arriving 1¾ min later. We all made it to the top, although
ToothFairy, with
25T her largest rear cog, was bemoaning the last steep section up Wattle Rd.
Samurai won the KOM for
Bowen Mtn with 14:45 with
TugBoat
15:11.
The famous
Bynup Pine at Bowen Mountain Reserve after
we had scaled the sheer 2.8km climb, where Pacific Pete had
excelled.
Whereupon we slide down the mountain to pristine,
Sassafras
Cafe Kurrajong Heights
where we partook of a pleasant repaste where the
meals, in particular Eggs Benedictine, are marvelous.
TugBoat, Samurai and Bank Teller
also done good by scaling the
double whammy
Bellbird Hill / Walks Hill Road
5.85km KOM Climb.
TugBoat 'n Samurai after
conquering the wicked 5.85km Bellbird Hill/Walks Hill Rd double whammy
where TugBoat turned the tables by winning the ascent recording 30:30
with Samurai 31:01. Bank Teller was a distant 40:14.
Mid-arvo after returning to Windsor station, in lieu of
Richmond station 'cause we added on another 15km by returning via the
Richmond Lowlands and Cornwallis to Windsor to kick the distance well over the
Ton, as the route map shows
Tour de Kurrajong Heights.
