started from North Turra' on a freezen' morning. Our descent of Bobbo approaching mid-Winter turned on the usual "arctic conditions" and the speedsters encountered a kilometre of hard packed unsealed clay approaching the bottom with road works in progress to reseal the road. No long gloves or legens required for our intrepid photographer for the descent to Bobbin Head.
On a chilly morn' none of us were keen the dally long at Andy's, whereupon it was due north to the Berowra Waters Punt, where en route Adam met up with us for the enjoyable ascent to the Pool Shop Sag Stop. Adam's rib, Ann Marie, joined us at the top, still ginger after a fall a couple of months ago. Grant bad us adieu, with the rest of us hooking a left onto the Old Pacific H'way bound for the Brooklyn Rd turnaround.
Pacific Pete
seemed to have the throttle to the floor on the ascent to PitS, as did BeanCounter
'n
Hugh 40 mins earlier whilst coming up from the ferry. Matthew even on his hybrid, with a bike rack and
pannier, was extremely strong, easily keeping up with the group and expressed interest
to bring
out his tandem shortly. Our arrival at PitS evidenced strengthening sunshine. Alas it was short lived with arctic conditions soon returning. This curtailed our Nosh Stop as riders were keen to be on the move. The Hornsby, Berowra & Asquith riders disappeared back to their respective starts, while the Nth Turra' contingent, after a fleeting Sag Stop at the toll booth at the top of Bobbo, stopped at the Nth Turra Café, after 94 clicks for another coffee to warm up in the sunshine which had come out just as we ascended Bobbo!!!. Murphy's Law !!! As there we met up with Liz, Siggy & PapaBear.
After
wrapping up another great day's cycling, Rex cycled around North Turra' to
warm up in the afternoon sunshine and to get up those 100 clicks!!! while
Matthew, Trevor, Tony and Karen retired to their cars for a well earned rest.
Post ride, a few of us adjourned to the Corner Cafe for a feed ' fix.
