The
Writer
refers to his initial Letter to Derryn Hinch dated 20 March 2019 with the same above
title that he provided (by post to the above address) in 2 DVDs, one USB Stick
and A4 hardcopy.
This 2nd
Letter to Derryn Hinch dated 13 April 2019 provides a thread
to
Version 2 of Letter to Derryn Hinch dated 20 Mar 2019 - also
in 2 DVDs, one USB Stick and A4.
The initial letter focused on the Problems and
Solutions.
Version 2 now better chronicles the Why these deplorable
Problems have been allowed to intensify/increase [explained in (a)(ii)
below] in
Providers to the 'System' are Comfy Riding on the Gravy Train, cautious not to
Upset the Applecart or
Rock the Boat
,
because the
Gravy Train is money-making
for us all.
The primary reason for posting a 2nd Version of his initial
letter is contained in the below extract from it in which (a) below better focuses
on the Why our
Corrective Services (Prisons &
Community Corrections) is plagued by a
Baker's Dozen Problems:
"After reading, and filing in his
Articles & Reports - Bibliography, over 180 papers,
submissions, articles, reports, the
Writer
completed writing a Discussion Paper titled
Thinking Outside the Cell
(available on a DVD or USB Stick Flash Drive) that prosecutes the case to re-Sentence
both -
A. Corporal
Punishment (in lieu
of approx. 50% of existing prison
Sentences)
to
Deter
others
from
similarly transgressing for
Suitable Male Criminals
and
for most
Criminal Activities, except
Sadistic, Brutal, Heinous, Unprovoked Murder;
and
B. Capital
Punishment
for a few of the
Most Monstrous Convicted Murderers
each year
if found guilty
Beyond any doubt
of
a
Sadistic, Brutal, Heinous, Unprovoked Murder/s,
in order to -
(a)
reduce the magnitude of a
Baker's Dozen Problems within the Australian prison system that are ostensibly due to
-
(i) Inept performance by our duly elected policy/law makers
to reduce/mitigate
the Dozen Unsustainable Prison Problems; and
(ii) because
Providers to the 'System' are Comfy Riding on the Gravy Train, cautious not to
Upset the Applecart or
Rock the Boat
,
because the
Gravy Train is money-making
for us all; and
(b) 'cut'
the
horrendous annual
homicide rates ostensibly caused by domestic violence; and
(c) free-up Australia's prison institutions for
Rehabilitation, adopting the
Restorative
Justice Model Successfully Adopted in Scandinavia since the late 20th century,
San Patrignano, Northern Italy and
Texas Justice Reinvestment,
in particular
Improving Responses to People with Mental Illnesses with
Specialist Drug & Alcohol Treatment to then incorporate
Education and
Vocational Training to instill self-belief and optimism due to the opportunity
for a chance at a paid job, thereby expediting custodial release back into the community
by utilising
an
Electronic Monitoring Device,
as taxpayers, into an employed job for a minimum of three months offered by
Supportive ASX 200 Companies."
The
Prelude
in
Version 2 now includes:
News Corp article
"Italian drug users rehabilitation program in Northern Italy
sets tone for new ‘life-changing’ centres in Australia" (6 Mar '15) describes
probably the most successful and encouraging drug rehabilitation model anywhere
in the world, which has been propagated to two Australian towns, albeit still in
its infancy.
For the vast majority, capital punishment isn’t motivated by lustful revenge,
but by a desire to protect the gentle and kind amongst us, punish heinous
criminals in just proportion to the severity of their crime, and dramatically
reaffirm objective moral truth.
Some point out that it’s unfair that terrorists, torturers, and
pedophiles should live out their years behind bars with access to food, shelter,
and entertainment — all on the taxpayer’s dime.
NSW
(then) Opposition Leader, Nick Greiner, in 1986 with a petition signed by 10,000 western
suburbs citizens demanding the death penalty for the Cobby killers.
The photo of a younger, Nick Greiner, holding 10,000 signed petitions demanding
the Colby killers be executed is particularly pertinent.
Articles & Reports - Bibliography
in
Version 2
now
includes a dozen or so additional
newspaper articles etc. not limited to:
Hopefully, the Justice Party is asking a few people with some understanding of
the
Criminal
Justice System to read the
Discussion
Paper and complete the
Peer Review
Form and submit that form to
the Justice Party in order for it to appraise the merits of
publishing
Thinking Outside the Cell
on its website,
together with all 'accepted'
Peer Review Forms
as annexures to
Thinking Outside the Cell. By enhancing
the Justice Party website,
readers that have registered on the
Justice
Party
website could post a
'Comment' re
Thinking Outside the Cell
or a
Peer Review
Form, or tick an 'affirmative' to an existing 'Comment' - in the same
manner that financial contributors to the SMH can post at 'Comments' below
the pertinent newspaper article.
The internet circa 2019 facilitates conducting a
referendum on an important national issue, that informs voters of the
consequences of their vote, for a veritable pittance.
