Annual Endurance Sporting Event(s) means not limited to the following esteemed, highly regarded once-a-year endurance sporting events amongst the 9 RREAs, the majority of which are in NSW, however, similar challenging events are available in most other states:

• Recreational Road Cycling:  
  *         165km Fitz's Classic or 105km Tharwa Challenge Canberra  in late Oct   

  *         200km or 140km Audax Alpine Classic from Bright Vic in late Jan.

           Explained in Two Legendary Endurance Cycling Challenges.

• Bushwalking/Hiking:

          *         Six Foot Track in the Blue Mountains of NSW with a 45km annual run/walk race in early March annually known as Six Foot Track Marathon           

          *         Seven Bridges Walk in late Oct - 25km walk clockwise on the western side of Sydney Harbour Bridge crossing the following bridges:
1.        Sydney Harbour Bridge
2.        Pyrmont Bridge
3.        ANZAC Bridge
4.        Iron Cove Bridge
5.        Gladesville Bridge
6.        Tarban Creek Bridge
7.        Figtree Bridge

          *        The Great NOSH Footrace - Lindfield to Seaforth NSW - 15km off-road - end May

          *        Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair World Heritage Area in Tasmania.

• Triathlon:
  Individual or Team Entries to below 9 Half IronMan events covering each Australian state and ACT, comprising 1.9km swim, 90.1km bike, 21/1km run:
  *         Tasmanian Half IronMan - mid Jan
  *         Geelong Vic. Snap Half IronMan - early Feb

  *         Busselton WA Half IronMan - early May
  *         Capricorn Resort Qld Half IronMan at Yeppoon in central QLD - early Aug

  *         Gold Coast Qld Half IronMan  - early Oct
  *         Meninigie SA Half IronMan in the Coorong - end Oct
  *         Port Macquarie NSW Half IronMan - early Nov. 

  *         Shepparton Vic. Half IronMan  - mid Nov
  *         Canberra City ACT Half IronMan - mid Dec

         *         Noosa Triathlon  1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run - early Nov.

  *         Titus 24 Hour Mountain Bike Challenge at Benobble, Canungra - 40 min drive inland from Brisbane or Gold Coast - mid April
  *         8 hour enduro Chase the Sun Series, Hallam, Victoria - late April
  *         Dirt Works 100km Marathon Classic, St Albans, Wisemans Ferry NSW -  early May
  *         Angry Doctor 100km Enduro, Mogo, Eurobodalla Coast, Southern NSW  - early Sept
  *         Australian MTB 24 Hour Championships at Mt Stromlo Canberra - mid Oct. 
  *         100 miles Full Highland Fling or 50 miles Half Highland Fling from Bundanoon Southern Highlands NSW - early Nov
  *         Urban Polaris ACT - early Dec.

• Road And Track Cycle Racing:

          *         110km Blayney to Bathurst Long Course in mid April as part of NSW Hill Climbing Championships; or

          *         170km Goulburn to Camden Cycle Classic with 2 sprints and 3 King of the Mountains climbs - late September

• Kayaking

          *         2009 Australian Marathon Canoe Championships - for 2009 held at Lake Kawana, Sunshine Coast, Qld over 10 - 12 April

          *         24km or 47km Myall River Classic held on Myall River, Tea Gardens - approx 5km Nth of Nelson Bay - late Sept 2009

          *         111km Hawkesbury Canoe Classic from Windsor to Brooklyn Bridge over 24 and 25 Oct 2009 - attracts over 600 paddlers annually

• Ocean Swimming
  *          2.7km Palm Beach to Whale Beach Big Swim
  *          2km or 1km Cole Classic at Manly

          *          www.oceanswims.com.au lists 100s of annual swims in the main conducted by surf clubs

• Jogging/Road Running/Cross Country Running

          *          Run Melbourne

          *          Sydney City 2 Surf       

          *         CoolRunning.com.au lists over 400 hundreds of running clubs and groups across Australia that conduct hundreds of annual fun runs, as well as other larger annual fun runs often sponsored by major state newspapers.
