Pickings were scares from the left-over Big Breakfasts
at
The
Bridge Cafe, but
Seagull still managed to snavel the slice
of tomato in the above pic - far right. Like a good Seagull, he waited until
the person who had ordered the meal had moved-on, but not by much
incase he was beaten to the punch.

was elated but whacked following her ostensibly flat
37km ride from the Pennant Hills Rd on-ramp. Fortuitously,
Caroline's parents happened to be in Macq Sq Windsor and provided Ann a
lift back to her jalopy at Pennant Hills. A Thank You note
from Ann is below.

Last Sunday, 23 Aug 2009, was just over a year since I got out
of hospital, after four months and four hospitals to
put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
It was marvelous to join some of the team last Sunday and ride
out to Windsor amidst glorious sunshine! I felt I was finally “getting
back on the horse”. Phil had assured me that our route along the M2,
M7, Quakers Hill Parkway, then tracing the Western line to Windsor was
“flatish”. But there were quite a few micro hills and undulations which
were a bit of effort for my reconstructed kneecap.
I was most grateful to the group going slow for me, waiting for
me and making sure I made it to Windsor in one piece. Caroline’s
parents were kind enough to bring me and my bike back in their car which
was muchly appreciated after 37km back in the saddle.
I again thank you all so much for the support and
good wishes since my accident; while in hospital I received visits,
cards, letters and flowers and lots of ‘phone calls from Muggs
and they all kept me going and got me back on my feet and the bike.
We share a common passion in road cycling. However, the common
bond of friendship and mutual respect which can foster and develop from
enjoying a recreational sporting activity together, further drove me to want to
recover and climb back on that pony.
I am still ongoing with physio and hope to improve to soon tackle some of our regular hills again.
Thank you all and happy cycling! |
