Rap-up of Tour de Mt White 'n Peats Ridge return - 110km from Hornsby - 7 cyclists Alas, a bit of a cock-up today, whereupon Jean aka ChiliDog and Bank Teller slipped behind and missed the main bunch, although t'wasn't intentional. Jean cycled from Rozelle at Sparrow Fart, meaning he left home before dawn. Approaching Turra' he noticed a "clicking" noise in his rear wheel and gleaned a distortion (crack in the rim) where one of the spokes came out of the rim. He phoned Phil who had arrived at Hornsby just approaching rollout time. When Harry hadn't appeared, Phil phoned Harry's wife, Wilma, who reported that KayakMan had driven to Hornsby. Unbeknownst to Phil, Harry had cycled North from Hornsby a few mins early. In any event, Jean wasn't overly keen on embarking on a big ride with a dodgy rear rim. And with no one else on the dog 'n bone, they headed Nth to PitS which was packed to the rafters with cyclists. A few hours later, Bank Teller fielded a call from Victor aka BigBusDriver reporting that Eric aka PapaBear, Bill aka Glasgow, Harry aka KayakMan, Paul aka SmallBusDriver and himself were pigging-out at Peats Ridge and were about to commence the return leg. A few hours later, Scribe's 'phone went beep beep signalling a voice ail from Bill aka Glasgow - sent a few hours earlier. Sorry for the cock-up, but it sounded from chatting with Victor that you guys had it all under control, and weren't phased by the non-appearance of "Mr Grumpy".
With Autumn well upon us, not surprising to be greeted by lots of low cloud in the Berowra Valley approaching PitS today.
