Scribe's rap-up of Hornsby to Pearl Beach although only two of us made it to PB with the rest of us taking an early lunch at Woy Woy - 9 cyclists - 94km Alas Scribe 'dropped the ball' last Sunday when five of us, under a misty cloud at the level crossing 1km from Woy Woy, agreed to skip the Pearl Beach scheduled Nosh Stop and head straight for Gnostic Marna Cafe, Woy Woy, but Scribe failed to inform Bazza and AnotherBeanCounter. Hence 20 mins later from pristine Pearl Beach, Bazza phoned Scribe and said where are you guys? Scribe belatedly apologised, as each crew member should be able to rely on the weekly Bullsheet unless, as a ride participant, he/she is informed of a last minute change. It wasn't as inconsiderate as prima facie it might appear. As three flats and the Ride Organiser getting lost materially contributed to our ride group getting broken-up between Mooney Mooney bridge and the scheduled Sag Stop at the Shell Garage at Kariong. First Matt had a flat about 2km into the climb from Mooney Mooney Bridge. Then AnotherBeanCounter snagged a flat. Then the Ride Organiser thought he could take a short cut along Gindurra Rd whilst on the alternate route (due to the road collapse) thru the Somersby Estate. See the route that took Scribe along Debenham Rd South on a short cut to West Gosford when he thought he was threading his way to Kariong Shell Garage which he never reached but don't open this file if your ISP has MB limits in ya web package, 'cause it is 7MB. Hence, eventually Matt and Harry joined Justine and Paul at the Big Shell Garage at Kariong, with Pete and Bazza somewhere else, and Scribe already down at West Gosford. The pink line is the advertised ride route and the blue line is where Scribe ended up. A reason for providing it is that it enables a different route which takes in pictorial Brisbane Waters Rd along the coast line which we might try next time. After another flat, Matt, Harry, Justine and Paul finally met Scribe at the railway level crossing 1km before Woy Woy, and opted for the nearest cafe. Scribe didn't have Bazza's phone # which he has since rectified, because as noted above, ride participants should be able to rely on the route listed in the Bullsheet being kept to unless notified otherwise. Arno and Rex rode Nth to Calga whereupon they returned for non-cycling commitments.
