KOM Summary Bullet Points

THE PROBLEM:

To rapidly achieve a dramatic shift in -

*              Lifestyle Behaviour which increases regular recreational exercise and improves diet;

*              reduces energy consumption patterns to conserve resources

THE SOLUTION:

Simple, fast, cheap which focuses on the fun and availability of enjoyable exercise within a competitive, ego driven enticement pitch using the Internet

*              Ecologically Sustainable Developments will only be achieved if Australian adults are shown how much fun playing in the great outdoors is, and how easy peasy it is to enjoy natural exercise - the stuff older folk did as kids with unbridled enthusiasm during their Youthful Exuberance growth phase.

*              Push bikes are outselling motor vehicles as the middle aged are abandoning their golf clubs to ride carbon fibre bicycles made increasingly cheaper due to high quality control in China by companies many with their head office in Taiwan.

*              Inaugural Annual King of the Mountain Challenge Cycling Series in Sydney from Sat 17 April 2011 to Sunday 29 May 2011 involving 420 elite Abled and 100 Disabled Interested Adults will achieve Collective Action to show Australians that regular, rigorous Challenging exercise in the great outdoors is fun and worth changing Lifestyle Behaviour:

*        "Our ecosystem is our playground, lets look after it
"
.

*             Sydney has a myriad of roads around its bushland perimeter which thousands of Cyclists enjoy cycling on weekends, particularly on Sunday mornings.  The road infrastructure for the Inaugural King of the Mountain Challenge Series, namely 3 KOM Climbs north of Hornsby, is already in existence.  In fact, rollout of the Annual King of the Mountain Challenge Cycling Series to 6 other Australian capital cities, and up to 50 large cities across the globe by end-2012, doesn't require any explicit infrastructure expenditure.

*             Annual KOM Challenge Series is a safe, healthy, aerobic competition that you can feel and scratch.  Its project Milestones - listed in the Annexure VI Microsoft Project 2007 sets out Task Schedule, "Predecessors", and associated Gantt Chart - are achievable and quantifiably.  Its delivery costs are a pimple on the backside of an elephant due to the power of the Internet.

*              Adults can train for the Annual KOM Challenge Series all year round where KOM Transponders and Micro ID Chips affixed to Climbers bikes automatically log their KOM Climb Times on selected KOM Climbs and log their KOM Climb Times on www.KOMpm.com as tangible evidence of improved performance.

*              Collective Action by 520 Cyclists in Sydney at the Inaugural King of the Mountain Challenge Series will create a knock-on effect nationally.

*              Following a successful rollout to 4 Australian cities in 2011, opportunity to propagate the Annual KOM Challenge Series via the internet, to Bicycle Organisations and their Environment and Health agencies in 50 large cities throughout USA, Europe and Asia by end-2015 to evidence Australia providing a blueprint to Materially Alter Lifestyle which is adopted in other countries.

*              Hundreds of thousands of Interested Adults competing in a regular, rigorous, Challenging, healthy local sporting activity amidst a LCCBSG which equally strengthens the mind and body to enhance QOL, whilst relying on traditional medical prescriptions to offset the possibility of cardiac arrest, stroke, arthritis etc amongst older Cyclists.

*              Interested Adults could obtain Four Types of King of the Mountain Challenge Series Bicycle Jerseys which display, inter alia, "Rigorous out door exercise can be lots of fun" and "Our ecosystem is our playground, lets look after it" with 25,000 KOM Challenge Series Bicycle Jerseys worn in 57 cities globally by end-2012.  Other slogans could be: "Size Matters.
