Prime Minister's Goal to involve the 'Private Sector' to facilitate Philanthropy, Corporate Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility and utilise Golden Gurus means the Social Capital derived from - (i) Philanthropy or Philanthropic means the act of donating money, goods, time, or effort to support a charitable cause, usually over an extended period and in regard to a defined objective. In a more fundamental sense, Philanthropy may encompass any altruistic activity or community structure which is intended to promote good or improve QOL. (ii) Corporate Philanthropy notes that when opening the Australian Davos Connection's Philanthropy Summit in Sydney on Sunday 19 April '09, the then Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, urged business leaders not to cut back on Corporate Philanthropy during the economic downturn. Mr Rudd said: (iii) Corporate Social Responsibility means a continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the QOL of the workforce, their families, the local community and society at large, collectively making a Contribution To Society. (iv) Golden Gurus notes 'inter alia' that on 22 April '09 the then PM, Kevin Rudd, announced that Golden Gurus was one of nine ideas adopted by the 2020 Summit with employers, government and society needing to support the decisions of older people continuing to contribute to society, in whichever way they choose. (v) Prime Minister’s Council for Active Living means to Establish a Prime Minister’s Council for Active Living and develop and implement a National Framework for Active Living encompassing local government, urban planning, building industry and developers, designers, health, transport, sport and active recreation.
