Artistic Director Duties And Responsibilities means for the Two Artistic Directors under the Third BTAAP Business Plan not limited to:

 

 

I.       Duties and responsibilities for 90 approx. IMT Student Dancers at each of the Selected 20 Lowest Socio-Economic Regions In Australia With A Population >1,500

  1. Recruit and audition Interested Marginalised Teenagers.

  2. Prepare initial session plans rehearsal times and establish goals.

  3. Liaise with all IMT Student Dancers re their individual time commitments in order to optimise dance practice and rehearsal times each week to maximise attendance and commitment.

  4. Plan and schedule rehearsals and performances, and arrange details such as locations, recorded music and sound equipment.

  5. Liaise with 90 approx. IMT Student Dancers and the Assistant Artistic Director to conjointly and democratically agree the Selected Dance Repertoire for the Annual National Bohémian Teenagers Ballet & Modern Dance Competition.

  6. Choreography dance routines for the Annual National Bohémian Teenagers Ballet & Modern Dance Competition

  7. Reconstruct and polish dance choreography, technique, and execution of dance routines for the Annual National Bohémian Teenagers Ballet & Modern Dance Competition based on progress of various IMT Student Dancers

  8. Ensure that choreography, costuming, make-up, and props are in place for Annual National Bohémian Teenagers Ballet & Modern Dance Competition and preceding dress rehearsals.

  9. Demonstrate method and procedure to IMT Student Dancers.

  10. Place IMT Student Dancers in the appropriate dance pieces in the Selected Dance Repertoire in a way that maximises IMT Student Dancers' enthusiasm and creativity.

  11. Direct IMT Student Dancers at rehearsals and live lead-up performances, in order to maximise rhythm and tempo.

  12. Provide additional assistance and direction to IMT Student Dancers with Disabilities.

  13. Direct practices and drill IMT Student Dancers on technique, presentation, and execution of dance routines in preparation for Annual National Bohémian Teenagers Ballet & Modern Dance Competition

  14. Observe and evaluated IMT Student Dancers' work to determine student progress or making suggestions for improvement.

  15. Work with 'Liaison Officer' of the BTB&MDCP SPV and IMT Student Dancers in scheduling performance dates and venue(s) in the lead up to the 'Heats' for the Annual National Bohémian Teenagers Ballet & Modern Dance Competition

  16. Accompany IMT Student Dancers to dance performances at selected venues.

  17. Prepare progress reports on all IMT Student Dancers and meet one-on-one with each IMT Student Dancers at least each three months to discuss their progress and commitment.

  18. Develop and maintain positive relationships amongst all IMT Student Dancers, interested family of IMT Student Dancers to foster and develop a robust Local Community Common Bond Support Group and resolve any problems which are negatively impacting enthusiasm and progress.  

  19. Deploy all the bells 'n whistles at one's disposal to maximise enthusiasm amongst the 90 approx IMT Student Dancers.

  20. Take a personal interest in any distractions encountered by some of the IMT Student Dancers.  That is, be a father or a mother figure within reasonable bounds.

  21. Will reside within 20km of the Dance Class Venue and be available virtually 24 x 7 to communicate with and assist their IMT Student Dancers.

  22. Arrange guest appearances from leading Australian and international dancers when such noteworthy performers are 'in town'.

II.      Duties and responsibilities to BTB&MDCP SPV

  1. Liaise with local council to ensure reliable availability of Dance Class Venue

  2. Liaise with and report progress to BTB&MDCP  SPV via each 'Three Monthly Progress Report'.

  3. Act as an interphase between IMT Student Dancers and the BTB&MDCP SPV for any queries made by IMT Student Dancers.

  4. Proactively make suggestions to the BTB&MDCP SPV to improve the quality of the experience IMT Student Dancers receive. 

  5. Report any problems/issues to the 'Liaison Officer' of the BTB&MDCP SPV which are militating against maximum progress
