Summary of the Scripts of Four Short Digital Movies

The message delivered by each of four Australian forefathers in the scripts prepared by the Project Developer are:

1.         Australia's most famous bushranger, Ned Kelly, whose message is:

(i)         Our ancestors endured modest, often harsh lifestyles to build this nation.

(ii)        Ensure that your grand kids' grand kids and their grand kids will have enough food, shelter and energy to live by.

(ii)        Shun False Gods that tell you that big, fast, shiny and powerful is good for you because that is causing gridlock and logjam in the greenhouse which is overheating the joint!!!

2.         First government in Australia, Governor Arthur Phillip whose message is:

(i)         Many of the 729 convicts that I brought to Australia in 1788 were guilty of crimes that pale into obscurity compared with today's Australians stealing from future generations.  Some under my stewardship had stolen a mere loaf of bread or a bag of wheat to feed their family.  Yet they were evicted to a land half a world away.

(ii)        Governments are bestowed by the people to act in the bests interests of the people.  Governments have failed in their primary charter because they have turned a blind-eye to some amongst you taking more than their fair share and being preoccupied with self-ingratiation.

(ii)        People who want Smaller Government are generally well-off and want to continue their avarice lifestyles.

(iii)       Australian Governments are going to have to make harsh decisions which will upset a lot of Australians to reign in irresponsible and selfish lifestyles, preoccupied with Me, Me, Me and Now, Now, Now  to ensure that future generations of Australians do not look back upon us with disappointment and acrimony.

3.         Teenager, Alfred Thomason, who enlisted in 1915 and died four months later from a bayonet wound in Egypt in World War One, whose message is:

(i)         Until very recently in the Earth's existence, man, other animals and plants lived in relative harmony respecting the Hand that Feeds Them.

(ii)        During World War One over 60,000 Australian soldiers, now Deadens in Heaven, are gnarled that many, still only teenagers, died slow painful deaths, on the other side of the world.  They fought to protect future generations.

(iii)       Those Deadens in Heaven look down and observe that their premature deaths were largely in vain because their descendants are preoccupied with Me Me Me and Now Now Now, and seemingly couldn't care a tinker's cuss for -

             a)         previous generations who toiled without damaging our ecological atmosphere and in many cases had their lives snuffed out prematurely to safeguard further generations; and

             b)         future generations.

4.         Percy Cerutty, accredited by Herb Elliot as Australia's greatest Athletics Coach, possessed an eccentric, irreverent, charisma.  Percy drew his energy from the former Grecian army, the Spartans, who could withstand enormous fear and pain without showing it, notorious for stoic demeanour not displaying emotion.  Percy's passion for toughening the mind and body by training in the great outdoors to the absolute limits of human endurance, pioneered hardening athletes like Herb Elliot to excel on and off the track, whose message is:

(i)         For all but the latest scintilla of human existence on Earth, man had to hunt or farm to feed his family.  Man was on the go all day every day, often running down different animals like dogs, cats, steer and deer. Only the fittest survived.

(ii)        These days humans are perched at a desk for 10 hours a day, frenetically gawking into pieces of plastic, talking into other pieces of plastic, and taping on more plastic.  They then drive home in a bit of steel, and raid the fridge to binge a veritable potpourri of food and drinks from all over the world.

(iii)       Man has coexisted on terra firma for millions of years.  However, in the pretext of progress and achieving a higher standard of living, recent generations of First World Countries have burnt copious Fossil Fuels in their obsession with Economic Materialism.  Those advertising gurus, paid by the multi-nationals, have done a first-rate job in indoctrinating us that greed is good (for the multi-nationals).  The pursuit of new, big, fast, shiny, and powerful has wrought a high price on our planet.

(iv)       Current tenants think that is normal human behaviour.  It comes with a lot of health problems, with Climate Change probably the biggest because it is clogging the only atmosphere we have.  History shows that only the fittest survive and you don't get fit or stay fit driving big motor cars to get your jollies or watching electricity soaking Plasma TVs.

(v)        Australia has marvellous oceans, rivers and mountains to exercise and holiday.  You don't have to fly to the other side of the world in carbon producing aeroplanes to holiday.  Foster communities locally to enjoy life to the fullest and remain fit for the long haul.
