3.VII.(b)   Analysis of the types of Disabilities and age distribution of the Disabled indicates that approx. 1.2m Disabled Australians would be physically able to commence a REA, provided sufficient Abled Participant Assistants are willing to assist them

The previous Section 3.VII.(a) contends:

A.         Financial burden on the taxpayer of assisting the one in five Australians who are Disabled is huge - Federal Govt alone contributes almost $7b annually.

B.         Assisting Disabled Interested Adults with a Moderate Limitation or a Mild Limitation commence a REA will -

            (i)          facilitate the integration of people with Disabilities mingle with the wider community;

            (ii)         enhance their QOL; and

            (iii)        reduce the financial burden on the taxpayer due to empowering some Disabled to take on Challenging REAs, which should have a knock-on effect for greater employment opportunities.

 

Analysis of the types of Disabilities and age distribution indicates -

*          500,000 Disabled Australians would be physically able to commence RREA provided sufficient Abled Participant Assistants are willing to assist some of them; and

*          a further 700,000 Disabled Australians would be physically able to commence a MREA, provided sufficient Abled Participant Assistants are willing to assist some of them, to -

             (I)         enhance their QOL, Compress Morbidity and empower them to greater expectations and horizons;

(II)         create a framework and platform for up to 1 million Disabled Australians to commence a REA -

                          *          reduce the financial burden on the public purse by Compressing Morbidity; and

                          *          increase their QOL and productivity;

             (III)        change public attitudes regarding opportunities for the Disabled resulting from -

                          (a)       RTV Promotion of YELP; and

            (b)       health agencies/'Registered Charities' increased emphasis on strenuous exercise as a therapeutic adjunct for the Disabled - a stronger body creates a stronger mind.
