Yoga originated from a group of ancient
spiritual practices in
India
involving postures and stretching. Major branches of Yoga include:
Hatha Yoga,
Karma Yoga,
Jnana Yoga,
Bhakti Yoga, and
Raja Yoga. Most yoga classes last for 60 to 90 minutes
and comprise an instructor and 10 to 15 participants known as
students.
Being a
MREA,
Yoga does not normally provide a cardio vascular workout,
however its psychological and physiological benefits from increasing flexibility
and strengthening core
muscle groups amidst a disciplined relaxing environment, which reduces spinal injuries and staves off incontinence
