Scribe's rap-up of
Sutherland to Austinmer 'n back - 100km - 8 crew
Pigging-out on the verdant, grassy knoll at Austinmer après 50km thru RNP.
Notwithstanding the o'cast morn' this South Coast township was bubbling with
activity, particularly with Nipper swimmers.
Most of the lads were keen "not to stop" at
Otford
Apple Pie Shop after
pedaling "Like Shit Out of Shanghai" from Austinmer and scaling Bald Hill from Stanwell Park where
Guy aka Lawyer
well recollects his initial climb with Muggs 12 months ago slogging up to
Stanwell Tops in 39/23.
Two of the older hands, Bank Teller 'n
Pacific Pete opted to soak-up the local entertainment offered at the
headland, where we chatted with the local 'model airplane flying club'.
As Pete 'n Scribe eventually took-off from Otford after re-fueling,
they
pondered that their exuberant mates up-ahead may be feeling the pinch on a 50km 2nd Leg
after a 50km 1st Leg. With bellies full, Pete and Scribe felt
good about that, and hoped they were all hurting muchly.
