Section 13A(b)     Marketing Annual KOM Challenge Series to Bicycle Racing Clubs, Recreational Ride Groups and Bike Shops

There are 3 comprehensive databases of Australian racing clubs, ride groups, bicycle shops and tour companies on the internet.  The predominant site is bicycles.net.au  Click on:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Another is
Aussie Cycling

On the Internet, there are -

(i)         63 KOM Climbs in "King of the Mountain performance measurement";

(ii)        in excess of 80 bicycle shops located within 10km of at least one of these KOM Climbs;

(iii)       in excess of 30 bicycle racing clubs located within 10km of at least one of the 63 KOM Climbs;

(iv)       in excess of 30 recreational bicycle groups domiciled within 10km of one of the 63 KOM Climbs;

(v)        in excess of 20 suppliers of bicycles and components incl Shimano, Campagnolo, Giant and Trek;

(vi)       in excess of 3 companies, partnerships or sole traders that offer Cycling Tours in NSW;

(vii)      at least 3 Cycling Forums that Cycling Tragics can chat together (ie. network) at crazy hours like 3am.

The Event Team could approach the following to support the Inaugural Annual KOM Challenge Series:

*        Mike Tomalaris at SBS Cycling Central

*        Waratah Veteran Cyclist Club

*        ATTA - Australian Time Trials Association

The Event Organiser could draft letters to all of the above cycling entities, listed in (i) to (vii) above, which -

(a)       outline the support of Wheelchair Sports Association NSW; and

(b)       explain the merits of encouraging their constituents to support the Inaugural Annual KOM Challenge Series.

The Event Team will make follow-up with 'phone calls and e-mails.

As noted in Section 9, the 4 bicycle entities defined as a Bicycle Organisation would appear on the Four Types of King of the Mountain Challenge Series Jerseys.

Our draft letters will offer each bicycle shop free advertising on one KOM Climb Page where Climbers log their Climb Times (ie. the initial 58 bicycle shops which respond in the affirmative will be prominently displayed on one KOM Climb each).

On each occasion that a Climber logs a new Climb Time, the Cyclist will open the KOM Climb Page and see prominent advertising of the bicycle shop which is sponsoring the KOM Climb.  It will be in the interests of 63 bicycle shops to promote www.KOMpm.com to local Climbers because the shop will get a free plug each time a Climber logs a Climb Time.
