Primary Care means initial health care providers who act as a first point of consultation for all patients (ie. opposed to hospital/specialist care). 

(i)         contain some or all of GPs/family physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, community health workers physiotherapists, dentists, dental nurses, some medical specialists and indigenous health workers;

(ii)        treat common illnesses, managing chronic conditions;

(iii)       provide Preventive Health; and

(iv)       focus on the social justice and preventive treatments, emphasising the need for equity, solidarity and inter-sectoral collaboration within the health system.
