3(a) 3.    Preventive Initiatives to Reduce Climate Change

Medium term survival of Earth's atmosphere is not about Second World Countries and developing Third World Countries not catching up to First World Countries Carbon Footprint.  First World Countries increasingly Squeezed the Pedal to the Metal during the 20th century.  However, we are approaching a dangerous corner, and it is necessary to break to hold that corner.

A plethora of remedial actions have been presented to reduce our Carbon Footprint which are listed in 2(a) and 2(b) below.  However, the only material way was identified by the ninth session of the InterGovernmental Panel on Climate Change Working Group III in Bangkok in May 2007, namely for a "shift in lifestyles" rather than "dependence on green-friendly technology" is required to mitigate Climate Change.

The joint Nobel Peace Prize Winners contend that it is contingent upon First World Countries, together with the likes of China, India, Indonesia, Russia and Brazil reducing their Carbon Footprint.

Leading a Local Community Healthy Lifestyle with Positive Lifestyle Changes with Changed Social Values will reduce Australians Personal Carbon Footprint

Citizens in First World Countries must provide an explicit and comprehensive mandate to their governments to make sometimes tough political decisions to reduce present large Carbon Footprints in the USA and many parts of Europe and the Asia Pacific.  Those political decisions will involve both Social & Stringent Measures to Materially Alter Lifestyle.  Due to the culture in the USA based on its Bill of Rights where the individual has enjoyed extraordinary freedom, reducing Economic Materialism will not be volunteered lightly.  However, escalating fuel prices, coupled with a severe fall in the U.S. Dollar, will jointly cause the USA to reduce its penchant for Economic Materialism and its associated Carbon Footprint probably more than voluntary diminished materialism.

Australia is largely being buffeted from increasing fuel costs by its strong dollar due to mineral sales to China 'et al'.  However, without a robust mandate from their electorates to make the tough decisions, Government will not make those tough calls because they will be conflicted due to concern about criticism from materialists and therefore their own tenure in public office should their electorate turn fickle.

Hence, Australians need a means to provide their Governments with a strong mandate to make the tough calls, otherwise our Governments will pussy foot around to the detriment of future generations.  Item 5 in 1. (immediately below) "Project "Aussie Green Team" Accreditation" possesses greater capacity than any other strategy for Australian aged 15 years and older to provide a demonstrative mandate for our three tiers of government to implement both Social & Stringent Measures.
