i)          Hornsby station carpark rollout 7:50am 52km via Galston Gorge and Pitt Town Rd arriving Macquarie Square Windsor at 9:50am for 1st Nosh Stop (30 min)
 

            Return via -
*        Cattai Ridge, Arcadia/Bay Rd, Berowra Ferry, Old Pacific H'way - 102km; or

*        Wilberforce, Sackville Ferry, Wisemans Ferry Rd, Halcrows Rd, Cattai Ridge Rd, Galston Gorge - 110km

OR

ii)         Porter's Lookout, Dural by 8:05am to cycle 38km to Windsor to arrive at 9:50am for 1st Nosh Stop (30 min)  Harry and PacificPete plan to start from Dural weather permitting

Ø   Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday

Ø   Expend 5 min studying your street directory for the 36km clockwise 2nd Leg loop from Windsor, Freeman's Reach, Richmond Lowlands, Cornwallis, returning to Windsor which is beaut

Ø   There are two seemingly innocent short timber bridges on Pitt Town Rd.  Whilst the gaps between the planks are not overtly wide, like all such bridges with longitudinal planks they warrant respect, cause if ya wheel gets caught, you could end up a paraplegic, so dismount and walk across 'em

Ø   Don't ride two abreast on single lane roads with an unbroken centre line and descend corners on wet roads as though you are skating on ice

Ø   Click on: Risk Management which warns of the dangers of cycling on public roads with motor cars, potholes and over bridges with vertical timber planks with gaps, and to cycle much slower at corners on descents on wet roads

Ø   Cycling without Public Liability cover is as silly as driving without 3rd Party - join Bicycle NSW or Bike Vic for PL insurance, or upgrade your household policy to include PL beyond your front fence, so that all Muggs are better protected, 'cause if you cause a serious accident it could cost you upwards of $1m in PL claims by the injured party, which could be a fellow cyclist

Ø   When passing a fellow Mugg, always provide a metre clearance.  If you can't, or are passing on the inside, you MUST call out loudly eg. "passing inside" etc

2nd Leg for ii) above at 9:20am:  Windsor, Cattai Ridge Rd, Old Northern Rd to Porters Lookout Dural  -  34km - 90 min

Yesterday's ride is sub-titled, "The tough get going, When the going gets tough".   Grant commented at the Kalkari Sag Stop "it really feels like we are in a national park with all the waterfalls, and insect and bird noises."  Apart from needing to take the descents slower, especially dropping down to Bobbin Head first-up, yesterday's ride was beaut with not a drop of rain.
