 Attend 2nd Cricket Test between India and Australia (day-night match) at the imperial Adelaide Oval. 

Match starts 2:30pm Friday 6th Dec '24 and finishes daily from 9:30pm.

Play up to three different local golf courses (listed further below) with rented clubs on the mornings of Test Match.  Re-visit the City of Churches.

Looken further ahead, South Africa Tour of Australia - August 2025 for  3 @ 50 overs a side ODIs  and  3 @ T20s - Darwin & Alice Springs - a lot warmer in August.

Please grovel and be nice, so as to entice your wife to accompany you in Adelaide this Dec, even if she hates cricket.  On two previous interstate test cricket trips at least five wives attended and did their own thing during the day.  This webpage lists further below a plethora of touristy stuff to visit.  Garry's wife and Ted's wife are keen for a lot of company when visiting the Art Gallery, Botanic Gardens, Victoria Square etc.  Or chomping into a Pie Floater on the wharves.  No reason that 8 or 10 of you can't  enthuse your 'better half' to accompany you.

1.    Adelaide in Nov 2016 - nine attended 1st Test against South Africa, visited Adelaide Touristy Thingos and played two rounds of golf

2.    Brisbane in Nov 2017 -  ten attended 1st Test against England, touristy stuff and play two rounds of golf  

3.    Canberra in Feb 2018 - 12 attended 2nd Test against Sri Lanka and played two rounds of golf

4.   Adelaide 15th to 19th Dec 2019 - 11 attended  2nd Cricket Test between England and Australia.  Eight played one or two local golf courses

5.   Adelaide 16th to 20th Dec 2021 - 9 attendees - 2nd Test against England - Day/Night @ $90 per day tickets

6.   Adelaide 7th Dec to 11 Dec 2022 - 10 attendees - 2nd Day/Night Test against West Indies  -  some played two rounds of golf

7.  Christchurch  6th March to 12th March 2024 - 8 attendees - some dodgy pics

Ten Old Farts at an earlier visit to Adelaide six years ago.  Or was it The Gabba or Manuka Oval, Canberra?  It is all a bit of a distant, far-long ago haze!  Subsequent facial deterioration evidences it must 've been several years ago.

  1. (Wednesday) West Beach Parks Golf Course - THE PATAWALONGA (18 holes) 3 Military Road, West Beach, 10.9km West of CBD or 2.5km South West of Adelaide Airport
    (    After 1pm, 2 rounds of Golf + 1 Cart Hire is $80).  To snavel this $80 bargain deal, on at midday on Wed, 7th Dec, keen golfers can catch a bus from Stop X1 Dequetteville Tce SouthWest side to Stop X1 Currie St south side.  Then another bus from Stop X1 Currie St south side for 51 mins to Stop 156A Military Rd East side.  Thence walking for 2 mins to West Beach GC at 3 Military Rd. to play 18 holes at this world famous, prestigious coast Links Course in the comfort of a motorised cart for only $40 each.   2. (Thursday) Mount Osmond Golf Club  60 Mount Osmond Road, Mount Osmond  (08) 8379 1674  - 7km S/E of CBD.   Joe informed that Green fees vary according to hit-off time.  Between 7am and 9am $80, between 9am and 11am $70, between 11am and 1pm $60, between 1pm and 3pm $50 for 18 holes after 1pm $40  Rental of a basic set of clubs $40, Carts hire $40. 
    Catch a taxi from 12:30pm the 7km S/E to Mt Osmond GC to play 18 holes.

  3. (Friday) North Adelaide Golf Course  - South Course  Strangways Terrace, Adelaide (08) 8203.7888   3km Nth/West of CBD - Par 71 - Buses every 15 mins  teeoff@northadelaidegolf.com.au   Green fees $33.50 midweek and $43 on w'ends, Tom informed me on 23 Nov '22 that renting premium clubs cost $70 and Odds 'n Sods clubs hire $26.50, Shared Cart Hire is $42.  Click on Bus Route and Bus Times.
