Shane
snagged the moniker, People Plotter, when he worked as a
Demographer with NSW Dept of Education and Communities,
Dapto Campus, but is now a Regional Asset Planner.
So if you think
the roads and infrastructure in the Illawarra 'are all arse about',
then blame Shane.
Shane has cycled in Canada, and
completed the
120km Amy Gillett Grand Fondo from
Lorne Vic (twice) the
100km ACT Five Peaks Challenge,
Cairns to Karumba on a road bike (will be doing it again this year
but on the dirt) and the Sydney to Dubbo Zoo2Zoo.
Shane recently commenced riding Audax rides intent on qualifying for
PBP in 2015. "This trip
to France will be a good training for pre-qualifying in November's
Super Series (200, 300, 400 and 600km)".
Shane's flight lands at Zurich on Wed. 4 Sept (one day earlier).
Hence, at Sparrow Fart of Thurs 5th Sept, Shane will TGV the
420km to Grenoble and meet
Syd aka MotorMechanic,
Steve aka
TravelDoc and
Phil aka BankTeller
around 3pm at Grenoble to collect our rent vehicle and affix a three
bike rack and drive to Bourg d'Oisans same day, with the option of
cycling the 51km to
Colporteur Campsite
at
our
1st Base Camp.
Alan aka PharLap
and wife,
Sharyn,
are arriving (separately) at
our
1st Base Camp on the arvo of Thurs 5th Sept.
Shane
was awarded a PhD
in Geography and a Bachelor of Science with Honours from
James Cook Uni
at Cairns, so perhaps he can be a 'Bookworm Nerd' Mon
to Fri when in The Gong. But he assures that he
will leave his career interests in Oz. |
