KOM Information Memorandum KOM Defined Terms KOM Challenge Series Calendar and Event Costs to 2012 KOM Summary Bullet Points KOM SWOT Analysis Section 12
Propagate Annual KOM Challenge Series to interested Bicycle Organisations and Health/Environment agencies in 50 large cities across the globe by end-2012 Rollout, via the internet, throughout USA, Europe and Asia with 25,000 Qualifiers to evidence the Australian Government providing a blueprint to Materially Alter Lifestyle. The Event Organiser has cycled three 8 day rides in Southern Europe on two visits. On his last trip he cycled from Bordeaux (France) to Barcelona (Spain) over the Pyrenees in an organised ride with 40 other recreational road cyclists. He has cycled several large mountains in California, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado on four visits. The USA has some higher passes than the famed French Alps or Pyrenees. He has several cycle friends in the USA who are familiar with the networking structure of road cycling cross the various road cycling bodies in the USA. Section 7 "Event Organiser and Event Team" notes that 3 other members of the Event Team, Mike O'Reilly (Central and Southern Europe), Sergey Shulubin (Russia and Central Europe) and Mark Carrington (South Africa) have extensive cycling experience overseas. Hence, the Event Team has direct access to a myriad of bicycle administrators, both in Australia, USA and Europe, to propagate an Annual Health & Climate Change King of the Mountain Challenge Series in the USA and Europe.
Asia is unknown territory. But establishing an annual
KOM Challenge Series in a handful
of very large cities in Asia will not be problem with a proven commoditised
template rolled-out to +40 cities in USA and Europe, particularly as the Event Team knows Cyclists who have cycled in Asia, and have holidayed there. * Asia and the Pacific Bicycle & Sustainable Transport Advocacy Organizations & Clubs* Japan Bicycle Promotion Institute * Asia & Pacific Bike & Non-Motorized Transport The Event Organiser's position with Commonwealth Bank involved understanding a plethora of Information Memoranda and Term Sheets prepared by Macquarie Bank, Investec, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and other equity advisers which invite banks to lend billions of dollars for large Greenfield and Brownfield infrastructure projects. On behalf of Commonwealth Bank, he lent to some infrastructure projects, or administered those projects, necessitating me understanding every facet eg cash-flow, construction risk, patronage risk, off-take contracts, base case financial models, tax, etc which are the building blocks to create New infrastructure. Propagating the Annual KOM Challenge Series to large cities in New Zealand, USA, Europe and Asia by end-2014, doesn't involve an extensive construction phase to build say a toll road, airport or major hospital. However, as noted to in the Prologue the same rigid processes which evidence Greenfield Project Development ventures transform to commoditised vanilla products are required to - (a) ensure a successful launch of the
Inaugural Annual KOM Challenge Series in Sydney
during 8 days of Climbing over six concurrent weekends from 17 May 2011 to
29 May 2011;
and (b) propagate to - * 6
other Australian capital cities by end-2013; and * 50
large global cities by end-2014. Accordingly, by end-2014, in addition to 7 capital cities across Australia, the Event Team is able to similarly conduct the same format Annual KOM Challenge Series at 50 major cities across the globe due to -
(i)
Event Organiser's banking experience in establishing NEW infrastructure projects;
(ii)
utilising the economies of instant delivery of current
information globally via the Internet;
(iii)
Event Team's extensive cycling contacts, within Australia,
USA and across Europe; and (iv) Event Team franchising the Annual KOM Challenge Series to a suitable Bicycle Organisation in each Australian state and ACT and to bicycle clubs/groups in selected cities across USA, Europe and Asia where the Event Team freights approx 5 sets of the AMB-it, Tissot or Swiss Timing hardware and software (purchased by the Event Team) around the USA, Europe and Asia to measure Climb Times with instant web publishing of all Climb Times.
The Event Team would similarly contract directly with Bicycle Organisations and Health and Environment/Climate Change government agencies in cities which sought to emulate Australia's initiative. This Information Memorandum does not scope beyond propagating to 50 large cities across the globe. However, opportunity exists to establish an international competition amongst the KOM Challenge Series Winners of the numerous cities as an ageing generation strives to remain fit and healthy. |
