KOM Information Memorandum KOM Defined Terms KOM Challenge Series Calendar and Event Costs to 2012 KOM Summary Bullet Points KOM SWOT Analysis Section 13B(d) Marketing KOM Challenge Series to 30 Registered Charities for the Disabled Section 7(a) lists in the Event Team a nurse, Karen Bagshaw, Disabled Coordinator, who has worked with the Disabled, in aged care and welfare and possesses a passion for assisting the Disabled and less fortunate get into cycling to expand their life horizons. Karen is familiar with Over 30 registered charities for the Disabled, their charters and contacts - Section 13B(d)(i). In addition, the Event Organiser has cycled more than twenty 100km+ road rides with a blind cyclist on the back of his tandem eg Toby, Lindy and Sean. The Event Organiser and the Disabled Coordinator could - (i) write to the 30 charities listed in Section 13B(d)(i) and various sporting groups for the Disabled listed in "accessibility.com.au - the disability information resource";(ii) make follow up phone calls and e-mails;(iii) seek to meet with the CEO of these charities if the CEO's subordinates do not respond in a professional manner;(iv) visit many of these charities and meet interested potential Disabled climbers, and personally work with them and other cyclists to enable them to train for the Disabled Category Finals Day; and(v) will approach local Bicycle User Groups in proximity to each Disabled seeking the Ride Group to adopt the Disabled cyclist by assisting them cycle.The Event Team possesses experienced committed people to co-ordinate the labour intensive task to facilitate Disabled Australians to compete in the Disabled Category Finals Day. Our budget for the Inaugural Annual KOM Challenge Series assigns $12,500 to cover costs to complete (i) to (v) above to ensue 100 Disabled Climbers participate on the Disabled Category Finals Day of Saturday, 21 May 2011. As noted in Section 13B(b), the Event Team is hopeful that APC will provide significant administrative support as the APC's charter includes: * "encourages people with disabilities to participate in sport"; and * "a support goal of APC is to assist develop disability sport in Australia". |
