Because each Climber commences 1 min apart, the Start Zone and Finish Zone, known as the Detection Loop, to read the Transponder/Odometer on each bicycle needs to be only be 3m wide. As the Detection Loop will pick-up the Transponder up to 1m above the Detection Loop, the mounting bracket needs to be fitted to the lower horizontal section in the small triangle near the rear wheel of each bicycle which is a simple task.
