Ten Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Conductor Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Recruit and audition Interested Marginalised Teenagers.

  2. Place suitable Interested Marginalised Teenagers in the appropriate chairs by section and eventually into separate ensembles. 

  3. Select music and oversee the development of the library in a way that maximises members' enthusiasm and creativity. 

  4. Work with the BTSO SPV in scheduling concert dates, venues and guest soloists. 

  5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with all BTSO's members, interested family and members closes to develop a Local Community Common Bond Support Group.  

  6. Proactively make suggestions to the BTSO SPV to improve the quality of the experience BTSO members' receive. 

  7. Direct groups at rehearsals and live, or recorded performances, in order to achieve desired effects such as tonal and harmonic balance dynamics, rhythm, and tempo.

  8. Plan and schedule rehearsals and performances, and arrange details such as locations, accompanists, and instrumentalists.

  9. Full responsibility for his/her BTSO practicing for and participating in the Annual National Bohemian Teenager Symphony Orchestras Competition.

  10. Consider such factors as ensemble size and abilities, availability of scores, and the need for musical variety, in order to select music to be performed that is popular with members.
