Conquer"
Phil
I
have reviewed Tour de Conquer which commences on Wed 5 Sept for 14 days continuous
climbing (for those like Eric).
Put
me down as a Committed Climb Participant,
albeit I might not attempt every climb because there are a lot of tough
ones scheduled.
I
have ridden in France twice before and learn more on each visit.
The
more preparation that one puts into a cycling holiday to understand the climbs,
the more you get out of it, and you have obviously provided interested climbers
with a wealth of logistics for each climb.
The
rationale of syphoning off the knowledge of riders like Eric, George and me who
collectively have cycled in southern Europe many times should enable a
cost-effective holiday.
I
can’t think of any of the famous climbs in Le Alps or Provence
that you haven’t included.
Importantly,
the three Base Camps are centrally located to the famous climbs whereby
travelling in vans is minimised.
I
will keep you posted after I review different flight prices/routes.
I
am also keen to investigate camping instead of staying in hotels. I have
camped on previous cycle holidays in France and the climate has been Ok.
Post
Tour de Conquer, I welcome seeing pics on the website of me appearing at
Le Sommet of Climb pages like L'Alpe d'Huez to show my grandkids - if I ever
have any.
I
also like the prospect of visiting the Pyrenees a year later, but first things
first.
