Defined Terms and Documents 'Aboriginal Teenager Life Skills' RTV Social Inclusion Early Intervention Programme Primary Care means initial health care providers who act as a first point of consultation for all patients (ie. opposed to hospital/specialist care). Community-based clinics or individual practitioners’ rooms which - (i) contain some or all of GPs/family physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, community health workers physiotherapists, dentists, dental nurses, some medical specialists and indigenous health workers;(ii) treat common illnesses, managing chronic conditions;(iii) provide Preventive Health; and(iv) focus on the social justice and preventive treatments, emphasising the need for equity, solidarity and inter-sectoral collaboration within the health system.Alternative names "general practice" and "family medicine", although the terms are not synonymous.
