Annexure B [3 pgs] is a summary of (i) above being 2006 ERASS which includes the following salient findings.

            "Overview

            During the 12 months prior to interview in 2006, an estimated 10.9 million persons aged 15 years and over participated at least once per week in physical activity for exercise, recreation and sport, a participation rate of 66.0% (Table 7)......A total of 5.6 million persons (34.0%) either did not participate in any activity, or participated less than once per week in the 12 months prior to interview (Figure 1 and Table 5).

The break-up of Participation, "at least once per week" which is the Participation threshold, "less than once per week" and "Sporting Participants who did not Participate at all":

10,944,500 Sporting Participants Participated at least once per week    - equating to a Participation rate of     65.96% (Table 7).

  2,412,200 Sporting Participants Participated less than once per week - equating to a Participation rate of     14.54% (Table 7)

  3,232,700 Sporting Participants did not Participate at all                        - equating to non Participation rate of 19.50% (Table 7)

The break-up of the 10,944,500 Sporting Participants who Participated at least once per week - between organised and non-organised:

4,192,000 (38.3%) Sporting Participants Participated in organised physical activity for exercise, recreation and sport - (Table 8) ie. Sporting Clubs.

6,873,800 (62.81%) Sporting Participants Participated in non-organised physical activity for exercise, recreation and sport - Table 20 ie. Recreational Exercise Groups.
