success,
the
Commonwealth
Government
provided
funding
through
the
National
Partnership
Agreement
on
Preventive
Health
to
ex
tend
the
reach
of
the
Measure
Up
campaign,
with
$41
million
allocated
to
national
level
activities
and
an
additional
$18
million
provided
to
the
states
and
territories
for
local
level
complementary
activities.
The
development
of
Measure
Up
activities
is
underpinned
by
research,
evidence
and
scientific
testing
to
ensure
effectiveness
and
is
overseen
by
a
campaign
reference
group
with
jurisdictional
representation
and
further
supported
by
technical
experts
in
obesity,
physical
activity
and
nutrition.
Following
research
and
evaluation
of
the
first
phase
of
the
campaign,
the
next
phase
of
the
national
Measure
Up
campaign
will
focus
on
reaching
at
risk
groups
and
providing
messages
on
‘how’
to
increase
physical
activity
and
eat
a
healthier
diet
to
achieve
more
permanent
behaviour
change."
