Bank Teller's rap-up of Tour de Old Bathurst Rd,
Springwood, Yarramundi, Richmond - 91km
Tornado, Yamaha 'n Heineken (Printer
obscured, except for his left arm 'n knee) at the KOM of a killer 2.33km KOM Climb
up Old Bathurst Rd where the peak gradient over the steepest 100m section is
?.??% (still to be determined by the number crunchers).
Tornado
creamed all of us with an amazing KOM time of 9:57.
Heineken finished with 11:45. Printer's time was 13:42,
with Bank Teller way back on 17:44. All times have been posted in
"Log your Climb times" to
www.KOMpm.com
Above 'n below pics at Old Poste Office Café,
Springwood amidst brill, balmy sunshine.
5 gay guys at Richmond. Aren't they all happy
chaps???
Above n below snaps taken at Richmond station after
we'd completed the 42.1km twin-legs from Emu Plains station initially NWW to Springwood
Nosh Stop,
then NNE to Richmond, where we visited lands which were popular in the
early 19th century. But in many ways have stood still since then.
What is all the fuss in the above pic? Well,
Yamaha works with a dude named Sully!!! And Yamaha had never
realised that when his dutiful, diligent, hard-at-it work colleague, Sully,
'had his head down' seemingly engrossed in RTA stuff. Little
did Yamaha realise that Sully was head-long into marketing his Garden
Centre business.
A good day had by all, and another marvellous 91km ride
"out West" discovered.
Where else, can you leave the snotty, North Shore address of
Turramurra at 7:20am on a sleepy Sunday morn', and less than 7 hrs later return, after
having cycled to Blacktown, then up a ball-terror of a climb, Old Bathurst Rd, thru Blaxland, Springwood, Winmalee, Yarramundi 'n Richmond.
Whereupon we "trained it" back to Seven Hills station, returning to snobbish upper-middle-class suburbia,
with your therapy valves
re-charged from beaut ride way-out-West.
