Bank Teller's succinct rap-up of last Sunday, 5 Sept, Tour de Windsor/Sackville "For the want of a nail, a shoe was lost. For the want of a horse, a battle was lost................." For 20 mins last Sunday morn', Bank Teller couldn't get the key to turn in his Jap Crap. Eventually when all seemed lost, the confounded lock released. In the interim, Scribe tried to 'phone 5 crew who, apart from Samurai, had their cell 'phones turned-off. Rolf aka Malvern Star was waiting at the edge of the M2 and eventually located a late running Teller. After short-cutting the route by catching a train from Seven Hills to Riverstone, Teller n Malvern Star arrived at Thompson Square Windsor amidst warming sunshine as Pacific Pete and ToothFairy were heading off for the Sackville loop. Heineken, Rummager, Printer, Samurai 'et al' weren't in any hurry to follow, but eventually did. Whippet 'n Yamaha cycled back to Sydney. Bank Teller didn't lose a nail or a shoe or a battle. But that bloody 'stuck lock' botched his timing up, whereupon last Sunday's ride was anything but jointed, with crew heading off in all directions. Scribe 5 Sept 2004 |
