Saturday, 31 July – Quatre Montagnes (anti-clock) plus Crosslands Rd to dirt road, with Brunch at Berowra Waters Café

*     Wahroonga Park 8:50am - 48m -    ETR 12:15pm

Both below ride start points arrive at only Nosh Stop - Berowra Fish Café 9456.4665 around 9:45am (35 min):

Park by 8:05am on Bobbin Head Rd at either end of Nth Turramurra street-front shops [approx 500m nth of Burns Rd] to rollout at 8:15am for 9.9km initial leg down to/up from Bobbin Head bridge, arriving at Kalkari Reserve Sag Stop (5 min).
4km later immediately after passing Asquith Golf Course on LHS -

• R into Belmont Rd for 150m;

• L over railway line to lights onto Old Pacific H'way;

• R onto H'way heading Nth for 7.2km; and

• L at lights into Berowra Waters Rd around 9:30am, turning R at 2nd roundabout.

Arrive at Wahroonga station east-side car-park [75m Nth of station, adjacent to rail bank on East side affronting the park] for 8:50am roll out cycling -

• Nth hugging the train line along Millewa Ave/Alexandra Pde for 2.2km

• R into Romsey St at roundabout for 200m;

• L into Edgeworth David Rd for 300m, 

• R at lights onto Old Pacific H'way thru Hornsby and continue Nth for 10.7km,

• Left at lights into Berowra Waters Rd.

Common route:
Both groups pedal 1.9km along Berowra Waters Rd and descend 4.1km to picturesque Berowra Waters for the ride on the punt [9:35am] to only Nosh Stop (35 min) at Berowra Waters Café from 9:45am.

10:30am - 

• R for 3.5km climb to KOM at Koppers Log;

• Ahead for 6.8km along Bay Rd and Arcadia Rd thru rural Berrilee and Arcadia to Wylds Rd;

• Ahead for 3.3km to roundabout at Galston (outside GreenShades);

• L at roundabout for 1km along Galston Rd to "T" intersection with Crosslands Rd for Sag Stop (5 min) from 11:15am;

• ahead along Crosslands Rd for 2.8km to "The Toadstool";

• "U" turn and return for 2.8km to Galston Rd.

Around 11:37am, descend Galston Gorge 3.3km/climb 3.2km and re-group at apex of Galston Rd around from 11:50am at familiar Hornsby Heights' bus shelter Sag Stop (5 min).

• L  for 2.5km along Galston Rd to Hookham's Corner at Old Pacific H'way

• L  for 1.5km to Asquith Station overpass

• R along Bobbin Head Rd for 4.4km to Kalkari Reserve

• Ahead  down Bobbin Head Rd for 3.5km to Bobbin Head bridge

• Ahead  up Bobbin Head Rd for 4km to KOM at Bobbin Head TollBooth

• Ahead  for 2.2km to Nth Turramurra shops - ETR 12:50pm.

	L  for 2.5km along Galston Rd to Hookham's Corner  Old Pacific H'way
	R for 1.5km down Old Pacific H'way to Leonard St
	L into Leonard St for 150m veering L passing back over railway line and continuing S/E along Alexandria Pde/Millewa Ave for 1.9km [rail line on RHS] to Wahroonga station - ETR 12:15pm

Bank Teller's rap-up of Sunday 24 July, Tour de Warriewood - 95km - 17 crew

 

Heineken, Adam 'n Eve, Kirstee 'n Engineer, Tornado, Kaza, Schooners, Whippet, Printer, Bank Teller, Samurai, Princess Caroline, Navigator, BeanCounter rolled-out on que at 8:30am on an o'cast morn which slowly improved. 

After 40.5km, but not before a 12km out 'n back to/from Duffy's Forest, we arrived at West Head where we met Pacific Pete and Koala Bear.

Unsure why, but our Nosh Stop o'looking the Blue Pacific dragged on a tad.  Perhaps it was the glimpses of faint sunshine after a few weeks of average Winter's weather.

Twas then 26 clicks back down West Head RD, a Left McCarrs Creek Rd, thence a Right due South past the Mona Vale Cemetery on RHS winding Easterly to Warriewood.

After everyone was "all fulled-up" on burgers, bacon 'n egg rolls etc from the Sunrise Cafe, we remounted to hug the coast Sth for a few clicks, before heading West 9.9km up Wakehurst Parkway and thence Nth for 4.9km along Forest Way, before chucking a Left cycling due West  for 6.6km back to St Ives.  After weeks of crummy weather, we were all glad to get-in a decent hit-out.
