Sat 5 and Sunday 6 June,
Tour de Macarthur weekend, staying at
Last June '04, 29 crew stayed at pubs/motels in Picton, with Pacific, ToothFairy 'n KnockYouOutDoc joining us for the Sat ride. The George IV Hotel was a winner, with Publican, Geoff Scharer, proving a easy-going chap. Kaza did a marvellous job making sure everyone settled their account pronto. Our 100km Sat ride to Mittagong 'n back did the trick, although we need to ride single file for the initial 25 clicks out of Picton until the traffic follows the main drag and we peel off twds Mittagong.
Directions: After 86km from De Burgh's Bridge take Left off-road from M5 to Picton Rd and drive 11km SW to Historic George IV Inn 180 Argyle St, Picton 4677.1415ph - famous for Scharers Little Brewery - in particular Burragorang Bock - accommodates 17 in below 8 rooms.
Kaza has co-ordinated below rooms at George IV with preference to crew staying both nights, and will collect your room tariff and settle with the hotel on Friday night, bearing in mind that $285 of room tariffs comes back to Bank teller to refund his deposit listed below:
Kerry from the George IV mentions the pub's restaurant is worth a look, so we might eat in on Sat night.
If the weather is a shocker, we still drive to Picton and visit the many attractions listed in the below HTMLs of sites in Walkabout Picton, 'cause it will likely be a worse weather on the coast.
Bank Teller has booked with the publican, Don, the following 3 rooms at the cheapo Picton Hotel Argyle St 4677.0048: * 1 twin room @ $30 for Kate and Annie; and * 2 single rooms @ $20 per room for Publican and Matt aka Printer. Maria/Ross are also booked a Family Room at the Picton Village Motel 1655 Remembrance Drive 4677.2121. Karen from the Motel has rooms with a Queen bed and 2 singles which are $95 for two occupying, and $20 per additional person. So three singles can book a Family Room @ $38.33 each.
If you want to participate in the cycling 'n revelry at Picton, book a room at Picton Village Motel 4677.2121. Bring some warm clothes as Picton is SW of Sydney and it is Winter.
