Ø No trackwork on Western Line from Richmond Ø Ride Leader: Phil Johnston 9498.3684 hm Ø Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday Ø Expend 10 mins studying your UBD/Gregory's to familiarize with the below 'cause this is a complex route Ø Bring a mobile if you have one, 'cause we invariably experience cyclists going AWOL on our sorties into Deliverance Country Ø Ride two abreast on single lane roads, particularly during Sackville loop, at own peril Ø Get off the road at Sag Stops Ø Cycling without Public Liability cover is as asinine as driving without 3rd Party - join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that all Muggs are better protected Ø When passing a fellow Mugg, always provide a metre clearance. If you can't, or are passing on the inside, you MUST call out loudly eg. Scribe's rap-up of Somersby Bellbirds - 12km - 12 cyclists A dozen crew enjoyed a typically arduous hit-out on the Somersby loop. Albeit we lost tyros Suzy and Simone at Mt White who did the turnaround. Rocket had a gummy knee from a spill the previous Sat week, but soldiered on. Whippet lost a bolt out of his right gear/brake stuff. But used one of those plastic tape locks that they bung on you in hospital to affix his jiggered gear gizmo. It worked, and Whippet seemed chuffed that after years of lugging the 'fix-all' whatsi in his bag of tricks, he was able to put it to good use.
A few of the crew at Mt White - Craig, Publican (obsecured) Rocket, Simone, Suzy, Marcel, GreyNurse (her best side) and Arno
A few hrs later at Somersby General Store The Scribe - 17 August 2003 |
