Bank Teller has booked with Mandy 5 @ Family Cabins [
detailed on their above website, which incl. all the mod cons] accommodate up to 7 people each - 1 Double Bed in each and 5 singles @ $115.50 per night "in toto".  However, not wanting to be squashed, we are limiting each cabin to 5 crew - works out @ $23 per head.

Din dins on Sat night, and brekkie after church:
Nurse Karen and Tony aka The Samurai are reconnaissancing for a venue in order to feast on 'Vino and swill' and grab some carbos on Sunday morn', from:

  • The Wiseman’s Ferry Inn 4566.4301 ph.  Mick the Publican, and Toni/Cathy 4566.4739 provide a Bistro from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

  • Del Rio's Bistro and Bar

  • Other cafes/restaurants in Wiseman's Ferry

Crew who are doing Tour de Wiseman's Ferry:
26 have indicated attendance thus far - Annie Oakley, The Samurai, Peter B aka Rummager, Kate, Jim aka Greenie, Danielle, Craig T, Peter W, Angela A, Angela R, Anne-Marie M, Colin aka Springbok, Gracinda aka Senorita, Brenda aka Widget, Pacific Pete, Marcel aka Credit Agricole, ToothFairy, Bank Teller, Tornado, Nurse Karen, Whippet, Kitchen Sink, Siggy aka Smiling Assassin, Alana, Koala Bear (
Sat. only) Publican (Sunday only).

Only cost 'up to $7' if it rains on Sat morn' and we do a "no-show":
Del Rio has accepted my cheque for one cabin to clinch our booking for 5 cabins. If Sat 31 May is a veritable sloshfest and we all do a no-show, Del Rio has agreed to call it "evens" by retaining the $115.50.

Sleeping bag:
Bed linen is not included, and costs an additional $11 p/h.  However, your trusty sleeping bag will "do the trick".  Camping is available @ $18.70 per 2 man tent [i.e. $9 p/h] which is unlikely to attract many, 'cause it ain't materially cheaper and could get cool/damp.

Sag Wagons:
Each participant's "small o'nite bag" and sleeping bag will go in a one of two Sag Wagons at Hornsby station by 8am Sat.  Each person who provides a Sag Wagon will receive between $40 and $60 (made up from "$5 per head bag delivery fee" to cover wear and tear and gasoline) depending on size of vehicle and if bike rack is fitted.

Annie Oakley [manual drive Subaru Forrester with bike rack], Pacific Pete [? drive Holden Camira no bike rack] and Alana [? drive Toyota RAV no bike rack] have offered their cars as Sag Wagons.

We propose to -

  • take only the two yuppie wagons [Subaru/RAV] unless more riders book-in this week, and

  • drive the two vehicles in a convoy so that the two drivers' bikes can both go on Annie's bike rack and thereby maximise space for bags.

Looking for a Tax Collector to garner all the $5s when dumping your bags in the trunk, 'cause "no $5, no bags on-board".  And then to pass on the loot to Annie/Alana "in toto" for them to argi bargi over the split.

Seeking participants to e-mail Alana Chandler alana.chandler.ac@bayer-ag.de or 'phone her 0418 472.104  if over 25 and offer to drive one of the unfilled below ride legs.

Warning:

We are venturing into Deliverance Country where some of the locals have kept the race pure thru selective in-breeding.  Hence, there are a few mighty strange RedNeck dudes frequenting the thoroughfares.  Some are powerful friendly, but a few think they own the roads, so it pays to keep well to LHS, and not ride two abreast, even if you are bored and what to while-away the hours squawking bulldust with a nearby cyclist.

Maps and directions:
Scribe will endeavour to mark-out some A4 maps, scan 'em and bung 'em on the website.  But he's only a Bank Teller.  Hence, if you know technically stuff like looking at a street map, he'd welcome you e-mailing to philipj1@tpg.com.au any route maps for T de WF scanned as jpgs or gifs on A4, so that crew can study the route beforehand, instead of playing 'follow-the-leader', 'cause we're visiting Deliverance Country and it pays to undertake your 'due diligence'.

Any other interested crew ahould e-mail ASAP johnstp@tpg.com.au

"Phil, I am 80% certain of attending and will want a single/double bed [omit one] in one of the 3 @ 5 person cabins that you have booked.  I undertake to pay you $7 soon after 31 May if it 'buckets down' leading up to Sat morn' and we all gazump the booking.  I understand that if I bail-out before the ride commences and the w'end proceeds, that it won't cost me a dime."

Footnote:

Samurai, and his ninjas say that come hell or high water, they are spending this w'end at Wisemans Ferry.  After last w'ends sloshfest, let us hope this 'warrior talk' isn't throwing down the gauntlet to the Rain Gods!

Summary:

If interested, and not in the above bookings, e-mail Bank Teller the above captioned response, and any other suggestions which might add to ToothFairy's inaugural Tour de Wiseman’s Ferry w’end.
