Scribe's rap-up of Sunday, 12 Jan, Quatre Montagnes from Wahroonga - 86km
Given that 6 regular Muggs are on the Tasmania Ride, and Kiwi Mike and Kiwi Lass are still hootin' it up 'across the ditch', 21 starters for today's Quatre Montagnes was surprising, especially as you could have shot off an elephant gun on Muggs' Boxing Day and New Year's Day rides, and not hit a passing road biker.
The below shot awaiting the Berowra Waters ferry was bolstered by 5 additional cyclists, including smiling Julie centre stage, who road the last Tasmania Ride with Scribe and Widget in 2000. This pic is testimony that Julie (in her Red/White jersey) is always a striking attraction on a bike ride. But careful, hubby Michael, is a big bastard and he is never far a field - see the mean dude in the blue/white jersey centre of the 3rd pic down. Take a brave or foolish man to mess with him.
The next four pics are a R to L panorama of the 7:58 ferry this morn', commencing with a Yellow/Red Sputnik. Is Andrew just a big guy, or was the camera simply too close to him?
Mark is hidden behind the the big bolt.
After brill sunshine 'till Berowra Waters, we evidenced a bunch of cloud up ahead on our route north to the Hawkesbury. It was gusty 'n spittin' by the time we'd reached PitS, which, together with all the burnt out countryside, has never looked so drab, but the respite provided within was enjoyed.
