Muggaccinos Pedlars Sunday Cyclists The Bullsheet Sunday, 29 Dec - Tour de Windsor: i) Turramurra @ 6:40am via M2 - 98km - ETR 12:55pm; or ii) Dural @ 7:20am via Pitt Town Rd - 66km - ETR 11:20pm
Ø Ride contact is Phil Johnston 9498.3684 hm Ø Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday Ø Expend 10 mins studying your UBD/Gregory's to familiarize with the below Ø Don't leave your brain at home on battery-recharge, 'cause this is a complex ride Ø Ride two abreast on single lane roads, particularly during Sackville loop, at own peril Ø Get off the road at Sag Stops Ø Cycling without Public Liability cover is as stupid as driving without 3rd Party - join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that all Muggs are better protected Ø When passing a fellow Mugg, always provide a metre clearance. If you can't, or are passing on the inside, you MUST call out loudly eg. "passing inside tight" etc Ø Don't ride with Muggs if your tyres are crap or your gears don't work, 'cause the Peloton isn't fond of gettin' pulled-up Snapshot: a)

Scribe's
rap-up of Boxing Day, 26 Dec, Mt White return - 100km With Whippet 'n Annie Oakley commencing from Hornsby, only MudGuards, Bank Teller, ToothFairy 'n Navigator rolled out of Turra', together with two visitors from Johannesburg, John 'n Larry, who are undergoing a flying reconnaissance visit to Sydney and Brisbane to determine which would be a better town to migrate to. As noted in Chores 'n Crew, these two from JohBurg, can really hammer on a tandem. Muggs' has got the artillery to match 'em, but alas a lot of 'em were AWOL today.
Mt White was like a Ghost Town with barely a handful of 250s 'n 500s; akin to Dodge City after Marshall Wyatt Earp had incarcerated all the 'cussed cowboys'. After the hard 50km 1st Leg slog, Navigator had stopped his perennial whinging 'n whining about all the rich food he'd stuck down his gob the day before, that "I really shouldn't have". Dead-set Terry was like a broken record back at Turra' pre-ride. It was as though he felt if he'd confessed his sins for over-indulging the day before, all would be forgiven. Truth was, we couldn't care how much he'd pigged-out!
With Pie in the Sky closed, we opted for coffee at Cowan where hostess, Sharon, didn't disappoint with her brew.
Denis, aka MudGuards, [2nd left above] has a new carbon fibre frame, and his Mavic rims ain't got no mud flaps, but his moniker for his previous misdemeanor, has stuck.
Only ToothFairy and Phil returned to Turra' at 12:10pm with 100km completed at 23.5km which ain't bad for 'a couple of old trundlers', but the unseasonally cool morn' ha rendered 'taming the ton' by midday a lot easier. Navigator, Whippet, MudGuards 'n Oakley headed for Hornsby. The Scribe 24 December 2002 |
