Bank Teller's rap-up of another "Dry as a Dead Dingo's Donger" ride, Sunday, 8 Dec to Bayview - 80km
A dozen crew pedalled east from St Ives a tad after 7am on another dry as a chip morn'. We collected Tornado at Mona Vale Fruit Barn. The pacesetters included Matt aka Starbucks, Bryony and tyro Andy, a seasoned Waratahs' Vet seeking a few hills in preparation for the 200km Audax Alpine Classic from Bright Vic. on Oz Day.
With the 24km Headland out/back closed, the Akuna Bay loop got the nod, including the initial two clicks into the Cottage Point where Whippet had Come a Cropper last Easter. With Nigger Chores a beckoning 'em, Bazza 'n BackPacker declined the short sortie into the roller-coaster.
Upon arriving at Bayview Marina, we learnt that Kiwi Mike and Tornado had completed nigh on all the Cottage Pt route with the two devil may care buccaneers going Scary Fast down the final slippery slide.
Another view of the same crew After saying tar tahs to Katrina who visited us at The Marina, a reduced contingent targeted the 2nd Nosh Stop of Akuna Bay, where we didn't dally long.
Around midday, with 80 clicks on the meter, we were sucking on caffeine back at Patterson's Patisserie.
NB: Rumour has it that the Kiwi Mike, who was Born when Meat was Cheap, is going to splurge out and buy a 2nd cycle jersey, 'cause he ain't enamoured with the moniker, Green Machine.
