Ø Ride contact is Phil Johnston 9498.3684 hm Ø Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday Ø Expend 10 mins studying your UBD/Gregory's to familiarize with the below Ø Don't leave your brain at home on battery-recharge, 'cause this is a complex ride Ø Bring a mobile if you have one, 'cause we invariably experience cyclists going AWOL on our sorties into Deliverance Country Ø Ride two abreast on single lane roads, particularly during Sackville loop, at own peril Ø Get off the road at Sag Stops Ø Cycling without Public Liability cover is as stupid as driving without 3rd Party - join Bicycle NSW for PL insurance, so that all Muggs are better protected Ø When passing a fellow Mugg, always provide a metre clearance. If you can't, or are passing on the inside, you MUST call out loudly eg. "passing inside tight" etc Ø Don't ride with Muggs if your tyres are crap or your gears don't work, 'cause the Peloton isn't fond of gettin' pulled-up a) Cycling to Windsori) from Turramurra station car-park – 48.5km to Windsor: Snapshot Turra' to Windsor: Rollout 7:30am descend Kissing Point Rd to Browns Water Hole, M2 to Marayong, following the Western Train Line past Riverstone to Windsor where we meet cyclists that started from Dural for our 1st Nosh Stop (40 min) from 9:40am at Aldos' Pizza Café on LHS as you enter historic Thompson Square off George St. Windsor.

Scribe's rap-up of Sunday, 6 Oct, from St Ives for Bayview Marina/Akuna Bay - 95km Notwithstanding a few regulars away over the long w'end, 9 crew rolled out of St Ives smack on 7:45am amidst brill sunshine. It was warmish then, and it got hotter. The Peloton collected Tornado at Mona Vale Fruit Barn after 6.8km.
After the 14km out/back sortie to Duffy's Forest, the crew took its 2nd Sag Stop outside the Thai Restaurant. From thence, it was 18.6km to West Head for a another gork at that majestic headland. Teller snapped individual pics of the crew on the steep section immediately after remounting. [These jpgs are loaded into the individual profiles of "Chores 'n Crew", accessible via "Warm 'n Fuzzy Stuff".]
Temperate , whose bum hasn't seen his bike seat for a month, claimed he was struggling, and took an early shower, opting to cut 'n run for St Ives when we re-joined McCarrs Creek Rd. We passed Dieter 'n Helga, and then Flash, as the warmer weather had everyone out on the trail.
Bayview Marina at 10:45am after 62.5km. L to R - Publican, Whippet, Rocket ToothFairy, Pacific, Malvern Star, Scott 'n Tornado.
The Flash snapped the above at Akuna Bay after 75km around midday. On schedule, at 1:45pm, with the air still as dry as a Dead Dingo's Donger, we returned to St Ives with 95km "all done". The Scribe - 7 Oct 2002 |
