The
Scribe's rap-up of Sunday, 18 Aug
With the prospect of weather, the antithesis of last Sunday's balmy Windsor experience, 8 sanguine crew which had mustered at St Ives on a moistish morn', jettisoned our planned coastal route to Warriewood, and headed for the hills where the sky was decidedly brighter.
Around 8:45am Bank Teller fielded a call from BackPacker 'n Bazza who were huddled under the awning at the Caltex gas station at Terrey Hills, and a wonderin' where the convoy was. Twds 9:30am we rolled into GreenShades amidst smatterings of intermittent sunshine. After dosing on Mokador, where a few of the crew took an eternity to chuck in their two pennyth, we rolled Nth twds the Berowra Waters ferry. [Crew, please don't leave the brain at home on 'battery re-charge' when you come cycling on Sundays]. Alas, we got dumped on somethin' serious in the leg back home, where 'twas a veritable sloshfest for a time, as Teller assisted Princess Monaco repair one-after-the-other punctures. But what the hell, we had fun over sixty clicks when the wosses wouldn't 'ave. The Scribe - 20 Aug 2002 |
