Scribe's rap-up of a moistish Sunday, 2 June, Ferry Boat / Iron Horse - 95km No, that lime green thing hangin' off Widget's bottom lip in the below pic isn't a flaw in the photo. Rather indicative of adults who can't act their age. The setting was the Brooklyn Pier this morn' approaching eleven bells.
Earlier on, some had taken the easy-out commencing from Hornsby. Publican, Bank Teller 'n BigGears had put in the hardish yards from Turra', although Whippet 'n Navigator had started earlier by joining another Bike Nth ride led by Keith 'n Fran. Due to yet a further inclement morn', where ToothFairy 'phoned in Butcher's Hook, we attracted only 8 starters. In any event as the above pic was about to be snapped, Brenda behested everyone to chew on a snake, green frog, Milko, gumboil etc from her lollie bag. That is why most in the above pic looks like prize dorks, except the dudes on the LHS who maintained their dignity.
After the FerryMaster took the circuitous route to Patonga, from 11:45am we trundled-up that short/sharp Mother of a Hill, past Pearl Beach, Ettalong, Umina and arrived at The Grouse House in Blackwall Rd Woy Woy from 12:15pm. With a grey cloud hovering we set up tables under the awning, which is no excuse for none of the above bothering to look at the dickey-bird, rather remaining intent of filling their respective faces. After we all clamored aboard the 1:26pm Choo Choo from Woy Woy, most of us alighted 12 mins later at Hawkesbury River station for the final leg back to Turra' or Hornsby. Hard to believe it was the same day, from the below pic bathed in fleeting sunshine at PitS around 2:15pm. The dude on the far R with his head down in the RTA issue Yellow Macintosh is Publican. After getting creamed by Teller in the climb from Brooklyn, Tony wasn't in a receptive mood, but Brenda was chuffed in beating both of 'em up the familiar 3.9km slope to a strong Segafredo Zanetti fix.
Publican had the last laugh in flogging Teller over the final 32.5km leg back to Turra', so much so that when Scribe returned back to the Rohini St, Turra' car-park just after 4pm with 95km @ 22.2km/h, Tony's familiar blue Falcon XT had done a bunk. A fun 95km, Trois Montagnes ride had by all, even including the two pikers (absentia in the above pic) who didn't alight at Brooklyn for the final leg via the Pie Shop.
