Scribe's fleeting rap-up of Sunday, 26 May, Northern Beaches 'n Backroads Sure it was a cold 'n damp morn', and yes the day before was a bummer. But that isn't any reason to stay away in droves. Alas only five reliable souls braved the prospect of a drenching to be rewarded by a clearing morn' and an uninterrupted ride from Turra', although as we rolled out at 7:45am it looked a lot more promising out West than along the NE coastline. Didn't catch the name of the gentleman on the far left, however, Graham aka BlueBeard, Publican, Speedwell and Neon Lights, together with Teller the cameraman, were our lean hunting party. We 'phoned Whippet from Church Point to enquire about his well-being assuming that a bit of damp wouldn't have deterred the Old WarHorse. But seemingly Brian was concerned that Brown's Water Hole might have been impassable. Perhaps it had rained a lot more at Ryde than Turra'. Teller peeled-off at Mona Vale for a rendezvous at Palm Beach, so can't report on the remainder of Graham's ride. The Scribe - 29 May 2002 |
