Bank Teller's rap up of Bike North's "West to Windsor"
With some Muggs away on Pacific Pete's Vic rider and other Muggs on the Big Ride, a lean representation of four [BigGears, Whippet, Papa Bear 'n Scribe] joined a large roll-up of Bike North members for an enjoyable 'n fast 40km ride leg from Pennant Hills Rd along the M2, thence tracking the railway line to historic Thompsons' Square, Macq. St Windsor.

The chap behind the pole in the above pic pre-ride at Pennant Hills is Whippet.  You'd be excused for thinkin' he was talking on a mobile.  Check-out the two recumbents on the far R - Ian Humphries (sub 9 hr. Audax Alpine Classic, and a Paris Brest Paris finisher) and partner Becky with the bright yellow tailgate chaise to another low hanging cycle.

Never seen so many recumbents before.  Top of the above pic - Ride Organiser, Keith, in the yellow jersey is giving interested BN spectators the 'good oil' about his recumbent.  Whilst two of the girls, Fiona 'n Becky, are sussing out another 'bent - down front of above pick.

Hats off to "Woodies Pizzas" 4577.8080ph George St Mall, Windsor.  Whilst it took a while for Woodies' lean staffing team to fill BN's burgeoning lunch order, eventually it all fell together as evidenced in the above pic, where Keith fixed-out on an appetising eggs 'n everything, cholesterol enhanced lunch, and no one went hungry.

With Papa Bear fretting that he needed to get home in time to mow his weeds, we opted to return after lunch.  Teller suggested the "flattish" Pitt Town Rd route, forgetting about a few hills over the 13.9km leg along Dog Pound Drive aka Pitt Town Rd.  A few clicks shy of Round Cnr Scribe co-opted the assistance of a local Dural resident, John Curtin, who was out front mowing his weeds, to hop on his bike and show us the back-road to Old Northern Rd, along the ultra hilly 3km shortcut along Pellit Lane, Wirrabara Rd, Derriwong Rd, Langford Rd/Davey Rd, Wyoming Rd to Old Northern Rd.  Dead set there is a gynormous house/estate on Wirrabara Rd, and an even bigger mansion on Derriwong Rd which each make JR's digs in Dallas, look like Dan 'n Dave's out-house.  The Dudes who own those Manor Houses couldn't 've paid their taxes, 'cause the ATO makes sure you don't get that wealthy if you give unto Caesar that which is Caesars'.

After succumbing to a delightful illy coffee at Wahroonga's snotty Coonabarra Café, opposite Wahroonga park, we rolled back into Turra' approaching three bells, well satisfied with our +100km Windsor hit-out.

Sunday, 28 April – Cinque Montagnes (anti-clockwise) 7:30am Turramurra [100km] or 8:15am Hornsby [72km]
